About Maarouf Saad Social & Cultural Foundation (MSSCF):

The Maarouf Saad Social & Cultural Foundation was founded in 1978 and registered in 1980 - as an independent Lebanese non-governmental organization (NGO). The Maarouf Saad Social and Cultural Foundation (MSSCF) was founded to provide educational, health, and social services to all under-privileged communities. Operating without discrimination and with special attention to vulnerable groups, the organization strives to spread human and citizenship rights awareness within the communities it services. Also, MSSCF is running two primary healthcare units, one community out-reach center, and a Rescue Department Unit.

MSSCF creates social, educational, and health development programs in partnership with the local community, encouraging their participation through initiatives tailored to their needs; these include topics on healthcare, community awareness and social assistance programs, as well as children's extracurricular activities.

The organization operates clinics and outreach programs that ensure essential medical and pharmaceutical services are delivered efficiently, ethically, and safely.

To support these efforts, a Part-Time Pharmacist is required to oversee medication management, dispensing, counseling, and compliance with pharmaceutical standards and regulatory frameworks.

 

 

Purpose of the Position

The Part-Time Pharmacist ensures the safe, effective, and rational use of medications within the clinic. The role includes managing pharmaceutical inventory, dispensing medications, ensuring adherence to treatment protocols, and maintaining compliance with relevant health regulations.

Pharmaceutical Services

  • Supervise dispensing medications as per prescriptions and ensure correct dosage, instructions, and counseling are provided to patients.
  • Educate assistant regarding medication adherence, potential side effects, and drug interactions.
  • Provide pharmacological advice and support to medical and nursing staff when needed.

 

Inventory & Supply Management

  • Supervise Managing pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and monitoring medication expiry dates.
  • Maintain an organized stock system to minimize waste and ensure availability of essential medicines.
  • Prepare monthly medication consumption reports with the assistance of the clinic's manager and the pharmacy assistant.

 

Quality Control & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with national pharmaceutical laws, licensing requirements, and clinic protocols.
  • Maintain sterile, safe, and clean pharmacy storage conditions.
  • Support the implementation of Standard Treatment Guidelines and Essential Medicines List.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of prescriptions, dispensing logs, and stock movements.
  • Report shortages, expired items, and any risks that may affect service continuity.
  • Contribute to periodic health program reporting as requested.

 

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution.
  • Valid pharmacist license.
  • Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in community pharmacy or clinical settings (NGO/primary health care experience is an asset).
  • Strong knowledge of medication dispensing procedures and patient counseling.
  • Proficiency in English.

Working Conditions

  • The position is part-time: [2 days per week].
  • The pharmacist will be based at Maarouf Saad Primary Health care Clinic, with occasional field or training participation as required.
