Field Coordinator

Main Responsibilities:

  • Participate in Out of School Mapping and outreach activities covering non-Lebanese and Lebanese children within the Akkar governorate.
  • Ensure all needed school documents such as MoU are collected and signed and followed by the school.
  • Set and follow up on the school budget and conduct regular review budget VS expenses.
  • Follow-up and coordinate School Focal Point team day to day activities, support and facilitate the implementation of the program activities at the field level.
  • Follow up regularly the activities in schools in order to ensure the quality of teaching and the well-being of teachers and staff.
  • Follow up on children’s attendance at school level and ensure safety and retention of children, through home visits, awareness sessions, and follow-up phone calls.
  •  Follow up on establishment of school clubs and support school directors in implementing the program's different components.
  • Ensure the inclusion of children with special needs in the educational classes and their referrals to the Inclusion Officer and the special educators, to benefit from assessment, assistive devices or therapy services based on need.
  • Support the school staff in identifying caregivers to be engaged in the awareness program for parents and in organizing the sessions.
  • Ensure deliverables and targets are met in coordination with Senior Education Specialist to ensure high-quality education is provided.
  • Ensure that learning activities in all assigned locations respond to quality education standards in coordination with the Education specialist.
  • Support the engagement of caregivers and parents in children’s learning by establishing a Parent Teacher Association at identified schools.
  • Facilitate and co-facilitate parenting training and awareness sessions to the community members and community events in close coordination with the Community Engagement Officer.
  • Coordinate with Logistics Officer, and school personnel to ensure that the materials’ distribution process is implemented in a timely manner.
  • Support the distribution of school supplies and stationery for all children enrolled in the targeted schools.
  • Support schools to establish a clear referral pathway at school level to cover the needs of different children.
  • Support schools in designing and implementing extra-curricular activities including school clubs, sports activities, and different school/community events.
  • Conduct classroom observations and mentoring sessions in the assigned locations when it needed.
  • Organize Teachers Learning Circles (TLCs) activities on a monthly basis in coordination with the Education Specialist.
  • Ensure Child Safeguarding is maintained in all schools.
  • Strengthen learning by supporting the embedding of digital technologies in all teaching, learning and assessment activities by providing digital devices (hardware) and digital components (Learning platforms).
  • In coordination with MEAL department perform base line and end line surveys for targeted children (Syrians and Lebanese) and communities.
  • Collect data needed for monthly and quarterly reports using dedicated monitoring tools including Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) and Children Satisfaction Survey in coordination with the Education Field Manager.
  • Report on the project progress in the assigned locations, as well as quantitative data, and success stories.
  • Ensure the quality of data collection in the assigned locations and provide feedback on challenges in data collection processes and tools;
  • Support school staff in collecting all the needed data related to students and their performance: child registration, family assessment form and Pre/post-tests and other information related to the project activities
  • Support the data entry volunteer/IM focal point per school in updating the database system and Child Level Monitoring with data and attendance.
  • Act as a focal point for various project activities at the school/center level.
  • Conduct individual or group coaching sessions as needed.
  • Perform additional tasks as needed and requested by the Education Field Manager.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education and/or having a teaching diploma or relevant degree education, pedagogy, or in Management or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of working experience in education sector, including teaching, teacher training and coaching
  • Working experience of minimum 3 years in NGOs and/or INGOs is a must
  • Excellent computer skills (outlook, excel, word, PowerPoint, video conferencing and online learning platforms)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledgeable of the community they live in and its geography and needs are a must.
  • Able to transport easily within 2 governorates Akkar and North.
  • Assess challenges and make advised decision.
  • Capacity to prioritize and good planning skills.
  • Capacity to work with different group of people.
  • Fluency in written and spoken French and English is mandatory.
  • Autonomy and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility, commitment, work ethics and team spirit.
  • Targeted area: Akkar with visit to head Office in Tripoli.
