The primary impact of this initiative is to address Lebanon's severe energy crisis by establishing reliable, affordable solar energy solutions for vulnerable households. By mitigating dependence on expensive and polluting diesel generators, the project aims to enhance energy security, boost economic resilience, and promote environmental sustainability within underserved communities.
The current activity focuses on the Nahr el-Bared camp, where 30 households are receiving subsidized solar systems. This intervention, implemented in partnership with local organizations and the private sector, includes the full supply, installation, and commissioning of the solar infrastructure, alongside creating local employment opportunities in the solar energy sector.
