Al Midan is seeking an experienced Senior Protection Case Worker to support its protection programming. The Senior Protection Case Worker will be responsible for overseeing and implementing Comprehensive Protection Case Management for persons at heightened risks. The Senior Case Worker will supervise and support Protection Case Workers to ensure qualitative and effective case management across all assigned caseloads. It is anticipated that the caseload will include both direct cases and supervisory responsibilities for an average of 30–40 active cases per staff under their supervision.

Major Responsibilities:
- Protection Case Management
- Conduct household visits and center-based interviews to assess the needs of clients and families.
- Work with identified clients and families to develop and implement action plans in accordance with their needs, capacities, and goals.
- Discuss choices and options available, including alternatives when needed services are not accessible, and actively involve clients and families in decision-making affecting them.
- Assess risks and support clients and families to understand risks relevant to their situation.
- Link clients and families with support groups, networks, and other community-based resources, as appropriate.
- Supervise Protection Case Workers, providing guidance, mentorship, and technical support to ensure quality case management.
- Identify and receive referrals regarding clients and families with specific needs detected during registration, psychosocial support, outreach, or other activities.
- Provide information to clients and families about their rights and entitlements, including available services beyond the scope of Al MIDAN.
- Ensure appropriate monitoring, review, and follow-up of services provided to cases.
- Maintain complete and updated documentation for each individual case.
- Determine if and when it is appropriate to discontinue follow-up to clients and families (case closure).
- Be accountable to individuals, families, and communities for the services provided.
- Directly provide psychosocial counseling and support the coordination of specialized service providers according to the needs of individuals and families.
- Data Management and Reporting
- Ensure accurate management, filing, and storage of data, maintaining strict confidentiality of information collected and services provided.
- Prepare and submit weekly and monthly work plans, reports, and updates to the Protection Case Management Officer.
- Support the implementation of monitoring and evaluation tools, identifying challenges and proposing solutions for program improvement.
- Participate in weekly reporting and planning meetings to ensure adherence to standards of care, quality case management, and reporting requirements.
- Coordination, Representation, and Capacity Building
- Maintain an up-to-date service mapping of providers operating in the area and proactively stay informed about available services.
- Receive cases referred from other agencies (following allocation by the Case Management Officer) and provide feedback on actions taken, while respecting confidentiality requirements.
- Lobby on behalf of individuals and families to access services, supporting them to effectively represent their views, needs, and capacities in meetings affecting them.
- Support capacity-building initiatives for Protection Case Workers and other staff, including training, mentorship, and guidance on best practices in protection case management.
- Represent Al MIDAN in coordination meetings and with key stakeholders related to protection services.
Job Requirements:
- Work Experience:
- At least 4 years of experience in Case Management, including supervisory or team-lead experience.
- Experience working with refugee populations is preferred.
- Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, respect, non-discrimination, and safety of beneficiaries at all times.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Ability to provide guidance, mentorship, and supervision to junior staff.
- Flexibility to work overtime when needed and ability to handle pressure well.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and reporting tools.
- Strong team spirit and ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment.
- Education:
Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field, with experience in case management and supervisory responsibilities preferred.
- Language Skills:
Fluency in Arabic required; ability to communicate and write clearly in English.
- Certificates or Licenses:
Case Management Training required; additional supervisory or management training is an asset.
