Clinical Psychologist (Consultancy)

The Clinical Psychologist is responsible for the training of JRS Lebanon Bourj Hammoud staff in matters of Psychological First Aid, recognition of symptoms and support for persons in distress. Furthermore s/he initiates and supervises referrals of cases to outside experts. Less complicated cases will be attended by her/him at JRS’ field offices. The Clinical Psychologist debriefs the Social Workers regularly.

Main Responsibilities of the Position:

1. Training of JRS Staff:

• Conduct sessions on Psychological First Aid and recognize symptoms indicating psychological and/or psychiatric conditions.
• Conduct sessions on supporting persons in distress and trauma.
• Conduct sessions on self-care and stress management.
• Hold bimonthly Social Workers meetings and provide ongoing support.
•  Develop PSS programs that address the evolving needs of JRS projects.

2. Staff Care:

• Conduct regular debriefings for Social Workers and provide counseling to staff upon request.
• Collaborate with external service providers as needed.

3. Counseling of Beneficiaries:

• Counsel individual cases in the JRS Project in Bourj Hammoud.
• Identify and assess individual cases for referral.
• Follow up on cases referred by social workers.

4. Administration:

•  Maintain proper patient files, both soft and hard copies.
•  Update MoVs regularly, including pre- and post-intervention assessments, consent forms, and follow-up session reports.
• Submit monthly, semi-annual, and annual reports.

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes: 

• Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology .
• License to practice the profession from the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH).
• Minimum of 2 professional years of experience in the field.
• Background in GBV/Protection and communities of Refugees or Displaced people is an asset.
• Knowledge of English and Arabic both written and spoken is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
