Education Project - Field Coordinator

Job Summary

1. Purpose of the Consultancy

The Project Coordinator is responsible for implementing, coordinating, and providing technical support for all project activities, coordinating directly with contractors and community members, and ensuring smooth logistical and operational execution on the ground. The position will also coordinate with the Protection team to ensure that all project protection components are being met and delivered.

2. Main Tasks and Responsibilities

· Oversee the implementation of all project’s activities at field level, ensuring alignment with project’s objectives, work plans, and donor requirements.

· Develop detailed work plans and activity schedules in coordination with the Education Program Manager and center supervisors.

· Ensure timely delivery of activities, procurement, and logistical arrangements needed for project implementation.

· Maintain effective coordination with center supervisors to guarantee smooth day-to-day operations across all centers.

· Ensure the availability of technical, financial, and human resources for proper implementation of activities.

· Provide technical guidance and coaching to project staff to ensure adherence to education standards and methodologies.

· Support the development and implementation of monitoring tools and feedback mechanisms.

· Follow up with partner organizations, where relevant, to monitor capacity, activity quality, and compliance with SHiFT’s and donor standards.

· Conduct regular field visits to monitor progress, identify gaps, and ensure activities are implemented according to agreed timelines and quality benchmarks.

· Monitor the teams’ performance and outputs, and provide regular feedback and recommendations for improvement.

· Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual project reports in coordination with the Education Program Manager.

· Contribute to data collection, documentation of best practices, and lessons learned for project learning and improvement.

· Build and maintain positive relationships with local stakeholders, including community leaders, parents, schools, and partner organizations.

· Represent SHiFT in coordination meetings at the local level when assigned.

· Ensure proper communication and visibility of project activities in line with donor and organizational guidelines.

· Ensure that all Makani activities adhere to SHiFT’s child protection policies, ensuring a safe and protective environment for children.

· Implement mechanisms for identifying and responding to child protection concerns and risks.

· Undertake any other duties as assigned by the Education Program Manager in line with the project’s objectives and priorities.

3. Qualifications

Education:

· Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, Management, or related field. Master’s degree is an asset.

Experience:

· Minimum 4–5 years of experience in education or humanitarian program coordination, preferably with NGOs or UN agencies.

· Demonstrated experience in managing field teams and implementing education or child protection projects.

· Proven ability in developing work plans, reporting, and monitoring project progress.

Skills and Competencies:

· Strong leadership, coordination, and organizational skills.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

· Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

· Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

· Fluency in Arabic and excellent command of English (spoken and written).

Requirement: Driving License

Working hours

5 days per week, from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM.
