Background
The Lebanese Union of Persons with Physical Disabilities (LUPD), through its MASIDAMA program, has facilitated a participatory process engaging diverse groups of women—including women with disabilities and women of various nationalities across Beirut, Mount Lebanon, and Baalbek. From August 2025 to November 2025, these women participated in structured dialogues, capacity-building sessions, and community discussions aimed at identifying their key challenges, priorities, and aspirations.
The My Story, My Experience initiative aims to empower women particularly women with disabilities from Beirut and Baalbek to document and express their personal experiences through safe, structured storytelling.
The initiative builds on previous community actions in Baalbek, where women presented true stories addressing autonomy, social norms, disability rights, and gender-based challenges through creative methods.
Expanding on this experience, the Beirut and Baalbeck component focuses on producing written narratives and visual/ audio content that will feed into a wider social media awareness campaign.
