Secours Islamique France (SIF) is a non-governmental organization based in France that promotes international solidarity. Founded in 1991, SIF intends to bring relief and protect the lives of those threatened by natural disasters, armed conflicts, or economic collapse. SIF intervenes in more than 30 countries around the world through emergency relief, recovery, and development aid. It carries out operations in Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Europe. Its goal is to help people suffering throughout the world, regardless of origin, religion, or gender.
SIF is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Driver, to be based in the Beirut - Lebanon Office, with field visits to Tripoli office.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Line Management
- Report technically to the Logistics Manager
2. Transportation and Safety
- Provide safe, reliable, and timely transportation of staff, visitors, and materials in line with SIF policies and national traffic regulations.
- Ensure staff movements are conducted under safe conditions, respecting security protocols and movement approvals.
- Support logistics during distributions and field activities, ensuring safe transport of goods and vouchers.
- Assist staff with loading and unloading heavy items when required.
3. Vehicle Management and Maintenance
- Be responsible for the assigned vehicle, ensuring it is in good working condition at all times.
- Perform daily vehicle inspections (fuel, oil, water, brakes, tires, lights, first aid kit, fire extinguisher).
- Ensure regular preventive maintenance and promptly report mechanical issues to the line manager.
- Keep the vehicle clean, roadworthy, and prepared for daily use or night shifts based on SIF rules and Standards.
- Maintain the vehicle logbook, mileage records, and fuel consumption register accurately.
4. Compliance and Confidentiality
- Strictly adhere to local traffic laws, organizational policies, and safety guidelines.
- Ensure confidentiality and professionalism when transporting staff, documents, or financial transfers.
- Report immediately any accidents, incidents, or violations to the Logistics Officer/Manager.
- Ensure passengers comply with safety regulations, including the use of seatbelts.
5. Support to Operations
- Collect quotations, assist with purchases, and deliver items to/from suppliers when requested.
- Support office maintenance tasks as assigned.
- Assist in logistical arrangements for field missions, workshops, or events.
- Contribute to smooth coordination with Programs, Finance, and Administration teams during field operations.
6. Other Duties
- Ensure constant communication with the line manager regarding movements and security updates.
- Stay updated on road conditions, checkpoints, and access constraints.
- Perform any other related tasks as assigned by the line manager to support SIF’s operations.
- Complies with corporate policies and standards: Safeguarding Children and child protection Policy, Anti –Fraud and Corruption Policy, Confidentiality Policy, Code of Conduct, Whistle Blowing, HR Policies and Procedures.
- Ensures commitment to SIF’s position on promoting women ‘rights and gender equality, and integrating this into all aspects of work.

KNOWLEDGE/STUDY/DIPLOMA:
- Minimum Grade 9 or secondary school certification.
- At least 2 years of professional driving experience, preferably with INGOs, UN agencies, or international organizations.
- Fluency in Arabic is required; working knowledge of English is essential. French is a plus
- Valid Lebanese driving license held for a minimum of 3 years.
- Good knowledge of local road networks, traffic regulations, and security/access constraints in Lebanon.
HARD SKILLS/SOFT SKILLS
Essential Hard Skills
- Valid Lebanese driving license with a clean record and no major violations.
- Proven ability to drive safely under diverse road, traffic, and weather conditions.
- Strong knowledge of Lebanese traffic laws, road rules, and security procedures.
- Familiarity with local routes, checkpoints, and traffic patterns.
- Competence in operating both manual and automatic vehicles.
- Basic knowledge of first aid and emergency response measures.
- Ability to perform routine vehicle checks and identify maintenance needs.
Desirable Hard Skills
- Experience driving for INGOs, UN agencies, or international organizations.
- Knowledge of basic vehicle repair and troubleshooting.
- Ability to drive heavy vehicles or 4x4s when required.
- Familiarity with GPS devices, navigation tools, or tracking systems.
