IGNITE- PROJECT OFFICER

IGNITE is a consortium funded by the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) through the Support Fund for Feminist Organizations (SFFO), comprising the International Rescue Committee (IRC), Rene Moawad Foundation (RMF), and Urgent Action Fund-Africa (UAF-Africa). IGNITE will aim at empowering adolescent girls and advancing gender equality in seven target countries in sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East, namely Burkina Faso, Cameroon, DR Congo, Ethiopia, Jordan, Lebanon, and Nigeria.

The overall objective of the project is to facilitate feminist Community Support Organizations (CSOs) to advance gender-transformative education and empowerment for marginalized adolescent girls, rooted in sustainable and locally driven approaches. IGNITE will be supporting feminist and youth-led CSOs to accelerate gender equality in and through education. This will be achieved through sub-granting and collaborative organizational capacity strengthening in finance, administrative, and technical areas, including research.

Position Summary:
The Project Officer will be responsible for ensuring the effective planning, coordination, and implementation of IGNITE project activities in Lebanon and Jordan, particularly the organization of three major networking events.
The position involves close coordination with consortium partners, CSOs, panel members, and event service providers to ensure smooth delivery of project objectives.
The Coordinator will report directly to the Project Director (PD) in Lebanon and the Grants Manager in Jordan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Coordination and Implementation
  • Coordinate and oversee the planning and organization of three networking events in Lebanon and Jordan.
  • Liaise with partner organizations and consortium members to ensure project activities align with IGNITE’s objectives.
  • Coordinate with CSOs to ensure their active participation in project events and activities.
  • Manage communication and scheduling with members of the event panel and participants.
  • Handle logistical arrangements including venue setup, catering, travel, and accommodation as needed.
  • Ensure proper documentation and reporting of all event activities.
  • Ensure all project materials and deliverables are properly archived and easily accessible.
  • Support the Project Director in developing detailed action plans, timelines, and budgets for project activities.
  • Ensure compliance with donor (AFD and IRC) regulations and organizational policies throughout project implementation.
  • Track project deliverables and ensure that all milestones are achieved within set deadlines.

Partner Coordination

  • Maintain strong communication with local partners, government representatives, and CSOs involved in the IGNITE project.

Monitoring, Reporting, and Documentation

  • Prepare and submit progress reports and updates to the Project Director and Grants Manager.
  • Assist in collecting and organizing monitoring data, participant feedback, and event evaluations.
  • Support the development of success stories, communication materials, and visibility content for IGNITE events.

Financial and Administrative Support

  • Assist in preparing financial documentation related to events (e.g., quotations, purchase requests, payments).
  • Monitor expenditures to ensure adherence to the approved budget.
  • Coordinate with the RMF finance and procurement teams to ensure proper filing and documentation.

Other Duties

  • Support other IGNITE activities as assigned by the Project Director or Grants Manager.
  • Contribute to internal coordination meetings, ensuring timely follow-up on action points.

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 3–4 years of experience in a similar coordination role.
  • Previous networking experience with CSOs preferred.
  • Strong writing, communication, and editing skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, MS Word, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity.
  • Ability to identify alternative solutions to complex problems.
  • Excellent oral communication skills in Arabic and oral/written proficiency in English.
  • Ability to prepare high-quality presentations and reports.
  • Willingness to travel within all project areas.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management.
  • Experience in event planning or coordination of workshops, conferences, or multi-stakeholder meetings.
  • Knowledge of gender equality, feminist movements, or education programming is a strong asset.
