The security situation in southern Syria remains fragile and armed clashes among a range of actors continue to be reported within the governorate. The hostilities in As-Sweida remain a major driver of humanitarian needs, with displacement exceeding 187,000 people—a level that has shown little change despite a decline in fighting. Communities continue to face severe service disruptions, including health supply shortages, intermittent constraints in access and deteriorating electricity and telecommunications service.
Localized clashes, movement restrictions and sporadic security incidents, including explosive ordnance-related casualties, continue to heighten protection risks.
Shortages of bread, a rising risk of disease and the approaching winter further compound the situation. Efforts to restore essential services are ongoing, but extensive infrastructure damage and funding gaps continue to impede sustainable returns.
