Psychologist

Job Summary

As a licensed psychologist, they will play a crucial role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals experiencing mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders. Utilizing their expertise in psychological theories, assessment tools, and therapeutic techniques, they will provide compassionate and evidence-based care to individuals across various settings. Their responsibilities will include conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, psychotherapy, and collaborating with case workers to support the beneficiaries’ well-being journey.

 

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

Assessment and Diagnosis

  • Conduct psychological evaluations and assessments to diagnose mental health issues in line with MoPH’s guidelines.
  • Utilize standardized assessment tools, interviews, and observations to gather relevant information.
  • Develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to meet the individual needs and goals.

Therapy and Treatment

  • Provide evidence-based psychotherapy and counseling services using various therapeutic modalities (CBT, IPT, EMDR, etc.).
  • Collaborate with beneficiaries to establish therapeutic goals and monitor progress throughout the treatment process.
  • Offer crisis intervention services to individuals experiencing psychological distress or emergencies.
  • Provide emotional support, guidance, and practical coping strategies to help individuals manage crises effectively.
  • Be available to respond to emergency cases.

Referrals and Coordination

  • Coordinate regularly with case workers to develop care and treatment plans.
  • Coordinate regularly with the CM program coordinator to discuss beneficiaries' progress, treatment options, and interventions.
  • Refer beneficiaries to the appropriate services when needed.
  • Attend coordination mechanisms and meetings such as the North MHPSS TF.
  • Attend regularly the internal sessions with other respective programs.

Reporting and Documentation

  • Maintain accurate and confidential beneficiaries’ records, progress notes, and treatment plans in compliance with ethical standards.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly plans and send them to the CM program coordinator.
  • Participate in coordination and technical meetings.
  • Participate in regular monitoring and evaluation exercises to identify challenges and gaps and improve the quality of services.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Masters’ degree in clinical psychology;
  • A completed clinical training/practicum in a university center consisting of at least 100 hours of training under supervision and 300 hours of applied training;
  • License to practice the clinical psychology profession from the Lebanese MoPH and being a member of the Lebanese order of psychologists;
  • Trainings and significant clinical experience in managing mental health disorders;
  • Experience in conducting psychological assessments, diagnosing mental health disorders, and providing psychotherapy;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with diverse populations;
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office (Word, Excel);
  • Fluency in Arabic and English, French is a plus.

  • Other relevant partners/stakeholders.

 

Conditions

  • Full-Time working hours: 5 days per week, 8 hours per day, from 9:00 am till 5:00 pm.
  • Willingness to travel abroad for work requirements, meetings and conferences (where applicable).
