Call for Chef Assistant Trainer

CVC Charity is launching a call for Chef Assistant Trainer to deliver 150 hours of Competency-Based Training (CBT) as part of its vocational training program aimed at preparing youth to work as Chef Assistants in the culinary and hospitality sector.
This initiative supports CVC’s mission to empower youth and improve their employability by equipping them with the practical, technical, and professional skills required in real kitchen environments.

The selected trainer will be responsible for designing and delivering an interactive, hands-on culinary training program that aligns with the Chef Assistant curriculum. The training should cover essential competencies including food safety and hygiene, kitchen setup and organization, ingredient preparation (mise en place), knife skills, basic cooking methods, recipe execution, teamwork, and professional kitchen etiquette.

The trainer is expected to provide practical demonstrations, supervised kitchen practice, and competency-based assessments, ensuring that participants gain the skills necessary to support chefs during food preparation, cooking, and service. The training should also foster discipline, teamwork, time management, and readiness for the hospitality job market.

 

  • Target Group

These trainings will target youth between the ages 18 and 25.

 

  • Project Background (about the bid)

As part of its ongoing efforts to promote youth empowerment and economic inclusion, CVC Charity is launching a vocational training initiative targeting youth in Mount Lebanon (specifically Bchamoun, Aramoun, Khaldeh, and Choueifat). The program aims to enhance employability and self-reliance by equipping participants with market-driven skills in Chef assistant, complemented by Life Skills and English language training.

In this context, CVC Charity is seeking a qualified Chef Trainer to deliver 150 hours of Chef assistant training to participants. The training should be interactive, practical, and tailored to the professional and communication needs of young jobseekers.

  • Evaluation and Selection Criteria: 

Evaluation and selection of the Chef Assistant Trainer will be based on a transparent and merit-based process. The criteria will include academic qualifications, relevant teaching experience, training methodology, and interview performance.

Priority will be given to trainers with:

  • Proven experience in cooking
  • Familiarity with competency-based and participatory training approaches.
  • The ability to design interactive, learner-centered sessions tailored to youth from vulnerable backgrounds.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
