Assistant Chef – Community Kitchen Tripoli

• Assist the Chef in preparing, cooking, and portioning meals according to the kitchen schedule.
• Prepare ingredients (washing, cutting, organizing, seasoning) in line with daily menus.
• Support the Chef in ensuring meals are nutritious, balanced, and culturally appropriate.
• Follow instructions on the use of locally sourced and agroecological ingredients whenever possible.
• Support the development of weekly menus by providing input on available ingredients.
• Help maintain kitchen hygiene and cleanliness, including workstation organization and equipment cleaning.
• Assist in stock control by reporting shortages, damaged items, or maintenance needs to the Chef and Supervisor.
• Support meal distribution, including portioning, packaging, and crowd management.
• Assist in beneficiaries’ tracking during distributions.
• Help ensure a welcoming, respectful environment for community members and kitchen visitors.

Qualifications & Competencies

• Certificate or practical experience in cooking, food preparation, or kitchen assistance.
• Previous experience in community kitchens, restaurants, or social feeding programs is an asset.
• Basic understanding of nutrition, hygiene, and safe food handling practices.
• Ability to follow instructions, work under pressure, and support team members.
• Familiarity with local cuisine and dietary habits in Tripoli.
• Preference will be given to candidates from the local community.
