Field Worker - Akkar

FIRST Step Together Association (FISTA) is a non-governmental organization dedicated to supporting individuals with cognitive impairments, communication disorders, psycho-motor difficulties, learning disabilities, attention deficit disorders, hyperactivity, behavioral challenges, and psycho-social problems. Established in 1993 and located in North Lebanon, FISTA’s mission is to provide education, vocational training, and professional rehabilitation for persons with disabilities, and to advocate for their rights. FISTA adheres to a strict zero-tolerance policy against any form of gift, favor, or hospitality offered to its staff by suppliers. This policy extends to a firm stance against sexual harassment, exploitation, abuse, and child abuse, with a commitment to thoroughly investigate all allegations and take appropriate disciplinary action when necessary.

We are seeking a dedicated Field Worker in the Akkar region to support program implementation through direct engagement with children, youth, families, and communities.

Responsibilities:

Conduct field visits to identify, assess, and follow up with children and youth with disabilities and their families.

Support the referral process by collecting accurate beneficiary information and ensuring proper documentation.

Assist in conducting initial screenings and identifying children who may require specialized services.

Coordinate with psychologists, therapists, teachers, and project coordination to ensure smooth case management.

Provide awareness sessions to parents and community members on disability, inclusion, child protection, and available services.

Participate in outreach activities, community mapping, and data collection to support program planning and implementation.

Maintain updated records, complete field reports, and submit documentation in a timely manner.

Monitor beneficiaries’ progress and report any concerns to the project director or relevant specialist.

Support the organization of training sessions, workshops, and community events in schools and community centers.

Conduct follow-up home visits to support families in implementing recommended strategies from the multidisciplinary team.

Ensure adherence to FISTA’s safeguarding policies during all interactions with beneficiaries.

Collaborate with local authorities, partners, NGOs, and community stakeholders when needed.

Participate in team meetings, supervision sessions, and capacity-building trainings.

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is preferred.

Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in fieldwork, community outreach, or working with vulnerable populations.

Experience working with children with disabilities or within humanitarian/development projects is an asset.

Strong understanding of child protection principles and community-based work.
