IM Officer

The IMO supports the programme department in meeting its internal and external reporting requirements in a timely and high-quality fashion. Reporting to the IMM, the IMO manages the completion process, assists in running and managing the OMIS, and supports the production of final maps through GIS.

 

Principal Responsibilities

IM Systems and data management

  1. Weekly Reporting data through IMSMA Core.
  2. Ensure that all daily, weekly, and monthly reports to R/LMAC meet quality standards as part of internal QA/ QC mechanisms.
  3. Identify and solve problems with existing reporting formats to ensure that they meet monitoring and evaluation contractual and internal requirements, together with IMM.
  4. Develop new reporting formats to meet internal and external reporting goals, if required with coordination with IMM.
  5. Provide additional information to the IMM on CL activities for donor reporting purposes.
  6. Liaise with NMAA on reporting issues with permission from IMM.
  7. Adding tasks to OMIS
  8. LR Report on IMSMA Core.
  9. Checking assigned Tasks on IMSMA Core and downloading them properly
  10. Creating shape files for LR reports
  11. Creating TS and CLR activities on IMSMA Core
  12. Creating NTS Polygons for NTS on Pro
  13. OMIS v2.0 all forms and DBs filling
  14. OMIS Backup
  15. IMSMA Core Progress Report
  16. Implementing new Database Modules and forms to automatize some tasks under direct supervision from IMM
  17. Creating and updating OMIS Forms.
  18. Creating and updating OMIS Web Maps.
  19. Creating and updating OMIS Web apps.
  20. Creating and updating OMIS Dashboards.
  21. Conducting drone surveys.
  22. Updating OMIS Datastore.
  23. Creating New ERPs to support the programme.

Data Processing and communication

  1. Data interpreting and reporting within internal and external reports to the IMM, CD, and TOM.
  2. Providing support for the preparation and publication of external reports.
  3. Providing QA/QC on data processing on OMIS.
  4. Modifying Data on OMIS

Completion:

  1. Conduct Quality Assurance of data and task dossiers for completion as necessary, and report to the TOM for review when needed.
  2. Provide clearance information output when it is required by the Technical Operations Manager or other staff.
  3. Provide completion information where there is a change of requirement from MAG / RMAC to all teams.
  4. Measure completed Tasks using DGPS.
  5. Prepare task folders for handover and completion.
  6. Conduct completion visits with RMAC officers.
  7. Liaise closely with RMAC on completion.
  8. Ensure that all the Completion Data and Information are up-to-date and saved as per the documents’ completion process.
  9. Complete PDF files, handover the task, update the Excel completion sheet, and store completion Information.

GIS

  1. Liaise with IMM to promote and develop the use of GIS around the program.
  2. Capture existing information for use within the system, including establishing procedures to maintain the data.
  3. Work with IMM on producing maps through GIS.
  4. Assist IMM in monitoring GIS through OMIS.
  5. Assist IMM to develop new GIS Engines according to Programme needs.
  6. Assist IMM to develop new GIS modules.

Communication and Reporting

  1. Assist in information management as required.
  2. Work as part of a team and liaise with other MAG personnel and Mine Action personnel to ensure a beneficial flow of information regarding Mine Action-related issues for the benefit of the MAG Lebanon programme.

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information management, Computer Science and/ or related technical discipline relevant to data, systems, or information management.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in information management, GIS, data systems, or a related technical field.
  • Good inter-personal and communication skills with ability to engage professionally with beneficiaries and stakeholders in a cross-cultural environment.
  • Adequate theoretical and practical knowledge of GIS, DGPS, and general information management, with the ability to support and train staff effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results efficiently by setting clear priorities, organizing workload effectively, and adapting to changing demands.
  • Ability to foster collaboration and maintain positive working relationships across the team.
  • Demonstrated commitment to integrity, responsibility, innovation, and respect in all professional activities.
  • Preferable competency in OMIS (Operational Management Information System) management, development, training, and implementation.
  • Proficiency in English and Arabic (both written and spoken).
  • Possession of a valid driving license with the ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle.

GENERAL

All MAG staff is expected to undertake the following general duties:

  • Understand and uphold the standards outlined in MAG’s Safeguarding Framework, acting with due care and attention to safeguard the wellbeing of anyone that comes into contact with MAG’s work and reporting concerns if they do arise.
