Key Responsibilities
- Data Management & Cleaning
- Maintain, organize, and update project databases, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all records.
- Clean and validate datasets, identifying and correcting errors, duplicates, and inconsistencies.
- Ensure all data is properly coded, labeled, and stored in accordance with MEAL protocols.
- Support the development and maintenance of digital data collection tools (e.g., Kobo).
- Regularly back up data and ensure safe, confidential storage in line with data protection policies.
- Enter, verify, and clean quantitative and qualitative data collected through field tools and Kobo forms.
- Maintain and regularly update project databases, trackers, and data management systems.
- Support the compilation and organization of data for monthly, quarterly, and donor reports.
- Assist in generating visual dashboards, charts, and summary tables for internal use.
- Ensure data confidentiality, accuracy, and consistency across all sources and tools.
- Support data collection teams by preparing templates and verifying the completeness of submissions.
- Provide basic statistical summaries and pivot tables upon request from MEAL staff.
- Participate in data archiving and backup processes in coordination with the MEAL team.
- Monitoring & Evaluation
- Participate in developing M&E tools, surveys, and data collection methodologies when needed.
- Support field teams during data collection to ensure data quality and compliance with standards.
- Conduct routine data quality checks and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Assist in analyzing quantitative and qualitative data for internal use and donor reporting.
- Reporting & Learning
- Prepare data summaries, dashboards, and visualizations of collected data to support program teams and management.
- Contribute to MEAL reports by providing accurate data to lead MEAL officer.
- Support learning events, project reviews, and after-action reflections by presenting key findings and trends.
- Support the development of organizational databases for collected data.
- Accountability & Safeguarding
- Ensure that feedback is logged, cleaned, categorized, and shared with program teams for follow-up.
- Maintain confidentiality, safeguarding principles and uphold ethical standards when handling sensitive beneficiary information.
- Immediately report and support the appropriate handling of any safeguarding concerns or incidents in line with organizational policies and procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in MEAL, data management, or data analysis within NGOs (preferred).
- Strong skills in Excel (pivot tables, formulas), data cleaning, and database management.
- Experience with digital data collection platforms such as KoboToolbox or similar tools.
- Knowledge of Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization tools is an asset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with field teams.
