Endocrinologist- Sour and Bazourieh PHCCs

Amel Association International (Amel) is a Lebanese and non-sectarian NGO created in 1979. Amel works through 40 centers, 6 mobile medical units, 2 mobile education units and 1 protection unit, and for more than 45 years has supported the poorest regions of Lebanon, from Beirut and its South Suburbs to Mount Lebanon, Bekaa and South Lebanon. Amel offers accessible services for all in the following fields: food security, health, education, protection, child protection, gender-based violence, livelihood, promotion and protection of human rights, rural development.

Amel Association is seeking a dedicated and experienced Endocrinologist to join our team at the primary healthcare center in sour and bazourieh PHCCs. The Endocrinologist will be responsible for providing specialized assessment, diagnosis, and management of endocrine and metabolic disorders for patients in the community. This is a part-time position with competitive compensation and benefits.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide comprehensive evaluation and management of endocrine disorders, including diabetes,thyroid diseases, adrenal and pituitary disorders, metabolic syndrome, and osteoporosis.
2. Adjust and optimize chronic disease management plans, particularly for diabetic patients, in coordination with the GP and the primary healthcare team, as per the Long-term PrimaryHealthcare Subsidization Protocol (LPSP).
3. Order, interpret, and follow up on relevant laboratory tests, imaging, and diagnostic studies.
4. Provide patient education on endocrine conditions, lifestyle modifications, medication adherence, and self-management strategies.
5. Identify cases requiring referral for advanced interventions or hospital-based care.
6. Collaborate closely with general practitioners, nurses, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated and continuous care.
7. Document patient visits accurately and comprehensively using PHENICS.


Qualifications:

  • Medical degree from an accredited institution
  •  LOP registration for specialty in Endocrinology
  •  Previous experience using PHENICS (preferred)
  • Proven clinical experience in managing endocrine and metabolic conditions, preferably in a
  • primary healthcare setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Fluent in Arabic and English (French is a plus)
