Peace Labs is a Lebanese peacebuilding organization established in 2012 and dedicated to strengthening social cohesion, dialogue, and inclusive participation across Lebanon. Through reflective peace practice, women-led engagement, and community-centered methodologies, Peace Labs supports local actors in becoming agents of transformation within their communities.

The organization is implementing a new two-year project targeting 150 women and 5 women-led CSOs across Baalbek–Hermel. The project strengthens women’s economic resilience, leadership and participation skills, and their role in fostering social cohesion across host, displaced, and refugee communities.

Summary of Position

The Field Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day field implementation of the project in targeted areas of Baalbek–Hermel. This role requires a female candidate living in Baalbek–Hermel, with strong community relationships, mobility (own car), and significant experience in humanitarian, social cohesion, or livelihoods programming. She will ensure effective outreach, coordination, supervision of field-level activities, and continuous engagement with women participants, CSOs, and local stakeholders.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Outreach, Mobilization & Participant Engagement
    • Lead field outreach, mapping, and community engagement activities.
    • Conduct transparent recruitment and enrollment of the 150 women participants, ensuring inclusive representation of host, displaced, and refugee groups.
    • Maintain ongoing communication with participants, ensuring consistent attendance and engagement throughout the project cycles.
    • Identify local connectors, community influencers, and gatekeepers to facilitate safe access and trust-building.
  2. Field Implementation & Activity Delivery
    • Supervise and support all on-the-ground activities, including trainings, workshops, dialogue circles, and community initiatives.
    • Ensure venues, materials, attendance sheets, and logistics are prepared and functioning smoothly.
    • Document activities through photos, attendance lists, qualitative notes, and short field reflections.
    • Ensure high-quality, conflict-sensitive, and gender-responsive delivery of all field sessions.
    • Provide immediate feedback to the Project Manager on implementation challenges, participant concerns, or contextual developments.
  3. Community Engagement & Local Coordination
    • Liaise regularly with community actors, local women-led CSOs, municipalities, and service providers.
    • Support the organization of local events, community initiatives, and CSO-led activities.
    • Facilitate safe, positive relationships between project participants and local stakeholders.
    • Mediate small issues or tensions at field level and escalate when needed.
  4. Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting Support
    • Collect field data and ensure accuracy of tools (attendance sheets, pre/post tests, coaching and follow-up forms, etc.).
    • Support the MEAL Specialist with data entry, verification, and indicator tracking.
    • Submit weekly field reports and monthly summaries to the Project Manager.
  5. Safeguarding, Protection & Do-No-Harm
    • Ensure all activities uphold Peace Labs’ safeguarding and protection standards.
    • Identify and safely refer participants in need of GBV/MHPSS support following approved referral pathways.
    • Monitor community dynamics and alert the Project Manager of risks, tensions, or security changes.
    • Ensure safe, dignified, and respectful participation of women of all backgrounds.
  6. Operational & Administrative Support
    • Support procurement and logistics for field activities (venue rental, supplies, refreshments, transportation arrangements).
    • Track distribution of materials, ensure cost-efficient planning, and report on field expenditures as requested.
    • Maintain organized archiving of field documentation (digital and physical).

Minimum Qualifications

  • Female candidate residing in Baalbek–Hermel (mandatory).
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum 5 years of experience in field coordination within humanitarian, development, livelihoods, or social cohesion programs.
  • Strong community relationships and ability to engage sensitively with diverse groups (host, displaced, refugee).
  • Proven experience in outreach, mobilization, and facilitation.
  • Good understanding of conflict sensitivity, protection principles, and Do-No-Harm.
  • Strong communication, community engagement, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, travel daily within the area, and manage field logistics.
  • Fluency in Arabic; basic English proficiency (documentation-level).
  • Possession of a valid driving license and access to a private vehicle (mandatory).​​​​​​​

Place of Assignment

The Field Coordinator will be based in Baalbek–Hermel with frequent travel across surrounding areas and occasional meetings in Zahleh.

Reporting

The Field Coordinator will report directly to the Project Manager, with close functional coordination with the MEAL Specialist.
