Main Duties & Responsibilities
1. Psychological Support & Therapeutic Interventions
Provides individual psychological support sessions to women and adolescent girls who are survivors of, or at risk of, GBV.
Provides psychological support to women, adolescent girls, boys, and children participating in GBV awareness or protection activities.
Conducts individual psychotherapy sessions for identified cases based on assessed needs and according to the program’s clinical guidelines.
Supports children and adolescents in learning and practicing trauma-resiliency and emotional regulation skills through age-appropriate therapeutic tools and exercises.
Monitors emotional and behavioral symptoms and provides self-care strategies and practical therapeutic interventions following approved psychological approaches and tools.
2. Technical Support to the GBV/PSS Team
Provides relevant technical input and guidance to case workers and team members conducting GBV awareness or basic PSS activities.
Advises team members on psychological risk indicators, referral needs, and appropriate intervention approaches.
3. Documentation, Follow-up & Reporting
Maintains accurate, confidential, and up-to-date clinical notes and records in line with mental health and GBV ethical standards.
Tracks progress of individuals receiving psychological support and updates intervention plans as needed.
Contributes technically to monthly, quarterly, and annual reports regarding psychological activities, key observations, and recommendations.
4. Staff Care & Internal Support
Conducts self-care, stress management, and debriefing sessions for MECC staff to promote staff well-being and prevent burnout.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:
Education and Certifications:
Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology
Registered in Lebanon. Holder of a valid license to practice from the Ministry of Public Health
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a clinical setting providing psychotherapy
Strong knowledge of regulations and international humanitarian policies
Skills:

Strong observation, analytical, and listening skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a caseload efficiently
Empathetic and non-judgmental approach to client interactions
Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability in dynamic situations
Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards
Computer Literate
Proficiency in both written and verbal English and Arabic is required; French is a plus
