Al Midan is seeking an experienced Social Worker to support its protection programming. The Social Worker will be responsible for planning and delivering Parenting Skills and awareness-raising sessions for individuals and families, while supervising two facilitators to ensure effective program implementation. The role focuses on prevention, awareness, community engagement, and capacity-building rather than individual case management.

The Social Worker will work under the supervision of the Project Manager and will support outreach activities, facilitator scheduling, data collection, monitoring, and referral coordination, while ensuring the dignity, confidentiality, and safety of beneficiaries.

Major Responsibilities
1. Parenting Skills & Awareness Sessions
•    Design, prepare, and deliver Parenting Skills sessions in line with approved curricula and organizational guidelines.
•    Facilitate awareness sessions on relevant social and protection-related topics for caregivers, parents, and community members.
•    Adapt session content to the needs and cultural context of target communities.
•    Ensure participatory, safe, and inclusive learning environments.
•    Monitor attendance, engagement, and feedback from participants.

2. Supervision and Support of Facilitators
•    Supervise two assigned facilitators, providing guidance, mentorship, and technical support.
•    Support facilitators in organizing group sessions, outreach activities, and community mobilization.
•    Develop and coordinate facilitators’ schedules and activity plans.
•    Review facilitators’ reports, documentation, and session data to ensure quality and accuracy.
•    Provide regular feedback and capacity-building support to facilitators.

3. Outreach, Referrals, and Coordination
•    Support outreach activities to identify families and caregivers for participation in Parenting Skills and awareness sessions.
•    Identify protection concerns or specific needs during sessions or outreach and refer cases to appropriate internal or external service providers, in line with referral pathways.
•    Maintain an updated mapping of service providers and referral mechanisms.
•    Coordinate with partner organizations and community stakeholders to facilitate referrals and service access.

4. Data Management, Monitoring, and Reporting
•    Ensure accurate and confidential collection of attendance lists, session reports, and activity data.
•    Compile weekly and monthly work plans and progress reports for submission to the Social Services Officer.
•    Support monitoring and evaluation activities, including tracking outputs, challenges, and lessons learned.
•    Participate in team meetings to support quality implementation and compliance with program standards.

Scope of Work – Clarification
•    The Social Worker will not conduct individual case management or maintain caseloads.
•    The role is focused on group-based Parenting Skills delivery, awareness sessions, facilitator supervision, outreach support, data management, monitoring, and referral coordination.

Job Requirements
1. Work Experience
•    Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in social work, psychosocial support, or community-based programming.
•    Experience facilitating group sessions, parenting programs, or awareness activities is required.
•    Experience supervising staff or volunteers is an asset.
•    Experience working with vulnerable populations, including refugees or displaced communities, is an asset.
2. Skills and Competencies
•    Strong facilitation and presentation skills.
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
•    Ability to supervise, mentor, and support facilitators effectively.
•    Strong organizational and reporting skills.
•    Commitment to confidentiality, safeguarding, and ethical standards.
•    Ability to work in a multicultural environment and manage multiple tasks.
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
3. Education
•    University degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Education, or a related field.
4. Language Skills
•    Fluency in Arabic is required.
•    Working proficiency in English (written and spoken) is preferred.
5. Certifications or Training
•    Training in Parenting Skills, psychosocial support, facilitation techniques, or community awareness is an asset.
