The School Psychologist supports students’ academic, emotional, social, and behavioral development. They work with students, teachers, parents, and school staff to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. Their role focuses on assessment, counseling, intervention, and prevention.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct psychological and educational assessments to identify learning, emotional, and behavioral needs
- Provide individual and group counseling to support students
- Offer crisis intervention for students experiencing trauma, anxiety, bullying, grief, or behavioral challenges.
- Educate students and staff on coping strategies, resilience, and mental health issues.
- Develop and monitor Individualized Education Programs and intervention plans
- Consult with teachers and staff on classroom strategies, behavior management, and student support
- Support crisis intervention and promote positive school climate initiatives
- Communicate assessment results and recommendations clearly to parents and staff
- Organize workshops or seminars for parents on child development, mental health, and academic success.
- Maintain accurate, confidential records related to student behavior and progress, academic performance, and psychological well-being.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and professional development activities
