GBV-Case Manager

Main Duties & Responsibilities

1. Case Management & Assessment

Conducts initial GBV assessments using approved tools and prioritizes cases based on level of risk and vulnerability.

Develops, implements, and regularly reviews individualized case action plans following a survivor-centered approach.

Ensures continuous follow-up with survivors to monitor progress and adjust case plans when needed.

Identifies and updates vulnerability criteria adapted to different contexts and GBV profiles.

Manages cases in accordance with national GBV SOPs, referral pathways, and internal guidelines.

2. Referrals, Coordination & Service Mapping

Identifies required services and ensures safe, timely referrals internally and externally.

Follows up on referrals to confirm that action points are completed within agreed timelines.

Maintains updated service mapping and strengthens coordination with GBV actors, PSS actors, health providers, legal services, shelter services, and other relevant stakeholders.

Participates in GBV case management meetings, inter-agency coordination hubs, and peer-to-peer learning sessions.

3. Psychosocial Support & Survivor Support

Provides survivor-centered psychosocial support and counselling, ensuring emotional stabilization and empowerment.

Facilitates structured psychosocial support (PSS) sessions and awareness sessions for women, girls, and other groups when relevant.

Conducts home visits when assessed as safe and appropriate, ensuring adherence to GBV safety protocols.

4. Documentation, Data Management & Reporting

Maintains accurate, confidential, and up-to-date case files using secure data storage systems.

Documents detailed case notes, progress, risks, and referrals in line with GBV data protection principles (including informed consent and data-sharing protocols).

Submits regular reports highlighting achievements, challenges, gaps, and recommendations for improved service delivery.

Supports the development of success stories, impact narratives, and documentation reflecting the project’s progress.

5. Program Support, Administration & Financial Duties

Supports in organizing the program’s activity calendar and implementing GBV-related activities throughout the year.

Requests financial advances required for GBV activities and manages the cash account for GBV program-related expenditures.

Prepares and submits monthly financial statements and supporting documents to the MECC finance team.

6. Protection, Ethics & Professional Conduct

Ensures strict adherence to GBV guiding principles during all interactions with survivors.

Ensures confidentiality, safety, and dignity of survivors at all times.

Promotes understanding and enforcement of protection principles within all program activities.

Performs other duties as assigned by the Program Director related to GBV service delivery and program implementation.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

Education and Certifications:

Bachelor's degree in social sciences, guidance and counselling or relevant fields

A master’s degree is considered an asset

Qualified/ Registered social workers in Lebanon

Experience:

Minimum of 4 years’ experience as a social worker

Preferably with previous experience working with vulnerable communities and Non‐Governmental organizations

Previous experience working in MHPSS and GBV programs is a must

Skills:

Strong observation, analytical, and listening skills

Good organizational skills to work autonomously and plan meetings for a caseload of   patients/beneficiaries

Good communication skills and the ability to conduct training and awareness

Good management skills

Good interpersonal and influencing skills.

 Good facilitation skills, capable of managing and facilitating group discussions with program participants

Patience and the ability to remain calm in a crisis

Computer skills

English & Arabic proficiency, both written and verbal
