MAPs is inviting Established Researchers affiliated with national or international universities to collaborate on an impactful research project aimed at strengthening the resilience of vulnerable groups in Lebanon. This project, funded by the German development Ministry (BMZ), and led by Multi Aid Programs (MAPs), offers a unique opportunity to study a large-scale vocational training program involving over 1,000 beneficiaries from Syrian refugee and Lebanese communities in Central Bekaa.
Why Collaborate with Us?
- On-the-Ground Insights: Conduct research within an NGO setting, studying the direct implementation of a large-scale project in a challenging context. You'll have the chance to explore topics like the social impact of training programs, the role of social collectives in community empowerment, and the long-term effects of vocational education on employment outcomes.
- Collaboration with MAPs' Expertise: MAPs has a long-standing track record of successful community-driven initiatives. You'll be working alongside our experienced team, who will conduct the bulk of the fieldwork, enabling you to focus on research design, methodology, and data analysis.
- Limited Commitment: The expected involvement is low, making this an excellent opportunity to contribute to impactful research while maintaining flexibility in your other commitments.
Potential Research Areas:
- Participant's Well-Being: Investigating the impact of vocational training on participants' psychological and economic resilience.
- Effectiveness of Training Programs: Assessing the outcomes of our vocational training and skills development programs.
- Implementation Practices in NGO Settings: Analyzing how NGOs can best implement large-scale vocational programs and adapt to dynamic environments.
- Economic Resilience: Evaluating the long-term impact of vocational training on employment rates, income generation, and community economic stability.
- Social Collectives & Community Empowerment: Studying how MAPs’ social collectives contribute to social cohesion, income generation, and overall community resilience.
Who We’re Looking For:
We seek national or international established researchers affiliated with academic institutions with expertise in various related fields, mainly social sciences, vocational education and training, community development and related fields.
