Communications Consultant

Scope of work

The Consultant will support the Policy, Advocacy, and Communications unit as well as the Education and Early Childhood Education unit in the preparation and execution of a national event. Specifically, the consultant will oversee event-related logistics, including venue coordination, visibility items, the development of communications products, and run-of-show support. They will ensure adherence to approved branding, visibility, and messaging guidelines across all event materials and spaces. The consultant will further support the development of communications products for the launch, including video content, visual assets, and other multimedia deliverables, ensuring technical quality and timely delivery.

 

Under the supervision of the Policy, Advocacy, and Communications Coordinator, the Consultant will support the preparation and execution of the event through the following tasks:

1. Communications Products & Media Coordination

  • Follow up on production of communications products (videos, animation videos, etc…)
  • Support the development of scripts/storylines for video products, as needed.
  • Support in the media advisories and press materials.

2. Branding & Visibility

  • Develop PowerPoint presentation for the event.
  • Follow up on the design, production, and installation of branding and visibility materials (e.g., banners, backdrops, digital screens, etc.).
  • Liaise with designers and other suppliers to ensure compliance with approved brand guidelines and messaging.
  • Ensure quality checks on final files and printed materials.
  • Oversee installation and removal of branding materials at the venue.
  • Coordinate approvals, as required.

3. Event preparations, logistics, and coordination

  • Assist in compiling the guest list and tracking RSVP responses.
  • Liaise with the venue on seating arrangements, audiovisual requirements, stage design, and other logistical requirements.
  • Coordinate with involved teams for smooth execution.
  • Coordinate and troubleshoot day-of-event operations, including agenda flow, scheduling (e.g. lunch break), communications, interpretation services, visibility components, and coordination with speakers and participants.
  • Deliverables: To ensure communications and visibility products are finalized and approved, supplier coordination is smooth, and event logistics are aligned for successful delivery.
  • Payment Schedule: The communications consultant will be paid a lump sum at the end of the contract period.

Requirements

  • Applicant should present a CV and a cover letter.
  • University degree in Communications, Media, Public Relations, Journalism or related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in communications, media, or public relations
  • Proven experience managing high-level events with multiple stakeholders, ideally including government or international organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate suppliers and oversee production of communications and visibility materials.
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Arabic.
