COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER

Under the supervision of the Programs Manager, the Communications Officer is responsible for developing and implementing the communications strategy, along with its associated action plan. The Communications Officer coordinates with internal teams, ARC members, and external partners to ensure the standardized implementation of the communications strategy in accordance with established protocols, action plans, and reporting requirements.

1- Tasks related to Communications Coordination

●    Coordinates the ARC/ANECD Communication plan implementation under the supervision of the management team, through bi-weekly meetings with the line manager and monthly meetings with the management team, and a monthly milestones plan and report, in addition to the minutes of meetings and monthly communication narrative report.

●    Coordinates with the different ARC/ANECD coordinators to communicate their projects. Weekly with Urjouha and ANECD coordinators and monthly with the MHPSS and Parenting program coordinators. The Communications Officer reports his/her meetings back to the line manager through the minutes of meeting reports.

●    Covers the events related to ARC/ANECD projects using the developed guidelines.

●    Covers the events where ARC & ANECD are being represented using the developed guidelines.

●    Leads the communications committee that includes the graphic designer, ICT consultant, Audio-visual consultant, ANECD Assistant, and Senior Editor. The committee meets monthly. The communication coordinator reports to the line manager through Committee minutes of meetings, monthly meetings, and monthly communication reports.

●    Ensures alignment between the communication action plan and M&E log frames by meeting the M&E coordinator every trimester, referring to the programs’ MEAL log frames, the milestone report, and the MEAL plan.

●    Coordinates, plans, and supports planning for any events, workshops, conferences, and meetings following the communications guidelines.

●    Develops the communication guidelines for events covering and related activities with a time span of 2 weeks for each guideline.

2- Tasks related to Internal ANECD Communication and Coordination

●    Attends executive and annual meetings and reports back to the line manager by email with a deadline of 2 weeks after the meeting for reporting back.

●    Liaises with the ANECD members through 2 ways of communication to document and disseminate news, publications, and events… and reports back to the line manager through bi-weekly meetings and the monthly communication narrative report.

●    Proposes and carries out a plan to improve internal communication efficiency, quality, timeliness, and effectiveness that includes proposing, carrying out, and assessing. The KPI is to reach 60 % of the members who communicate actively with the ANECD secretariat.

3- Tasks related to External Communication and Coordination

●    Checks every week partners’ and stakeholders’ communication channels. Reports back to the line manager through the communication platform and by email.

●    Leads the regular newsletters and calls to action published by ARC/ANECD every month.

●    Enhances the visibility of ARC/ANECD by managing social media posting every week, one ANECD newsletter, and one Urjouha newsletter every month.

●    Ensures compliance with partners and external stakeholders by following dedicated communications protocols with the concerned stakeholders.

●    Updates every three months the internal and external partners' mailing list.

●    Covers external partnerships as directed by the global partnerships coordinator by announcing new partnerships to the public.

●    Represents ANECD in the events when deputizing the management team and reports back by email, the milestones report, and the monthly communication narrative report with a time span of 2 weeks.

4- Tasks related to Organizational Communication Strategy

●    Revises and updates existing communication strategies in accordance with the organization’s strategy updates every year.

●    Develops any new needed communication strategy within a time span of three weeks.

●    Develops a communications action plan every year in line with communication strategies and updates this action plan every 3 months.

●    Develops guidelines, standards, and procedures for the organization’s communication across various channels and platforms, in addition to reviewing and updating promotional material within a time span of one week.

●    Monitors and manages the different organizations’ websites: mawared.org, anecd.net, urjouha.net, nawara.info, and reports back to the line manager every three months.

●    Assumes responsibility for the content and management of ARC/ANECD’s channels in collaboration with the relevant project coordinators and ensures effective social media presence in both Arabic and English through blogs, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn every week.

●    Compiles and delivers high-quality communication materials (flyers, website content, publications, posters, banners, newsletters, etc.) effectively to key target groups in collaboration with the senior editor and the coordinators, following the material checklist timeline.
