Project Context:
The Digital Literacy Trainer will work within a project aimed at enhancing the educational empowerment and employability of women and adolescent girls from refugee and host communities in the Bekaa region. The position supports the delivery of ICDL-certified digital literacy training, equipping participants with essential computer skills, cybersecurity awareness, and practical competencies required for education and employment in a technology-driven environment.
Job Summary:
The Digital Literacy Trainer is responsible for planning, delivering, and evaluating comprehensive digital literacy and ICDL training programs for women and adolescent girls. The trainer will provide hands-on instruction in computer basics, office applications, internet usage, and cybersecurity while applying learner-centered and participatory teaching methodologies. The role also includes contributing to curriculum development, maintaining training equipment, and ensuring safe and secure use of digital tools.
Key Responsibilities:
Training & Capacity Building:
- Deliver Digital Literacy aligned training modules, including: introduction to Information Technology, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, internet usage and etc.…
- Conduct cybersecurity awareness sessions focusing on data protection and privacy, safe internet practices, identifying phishing and online threats.
- Facilitate interactive and practical sessions totaling of 24 sessions per group.
- Support participants in developing digital skills that enhance employability and educational opportunities.
Curriculum Development & Learning Methods:
- Adapt and update training materials to meet the needs, learning levels, and cultural context of women and adolescent girls with the support of the Project Manager.
- Apply participatory and inclusive teaching methodologies, including hands-on exercises, group work, and digital learning tools.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of technical curricula and training content.
Technical Support & Maintenance:
- Assist in maintaining and organizing computer workshops, including basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance of equipment.
- Coordinate with technical staff to improve the center’s IT infrastructure, networks, and systems.
- Ensure all devices and systems are used in compliance with safety, protection, and data security standards.
Monitoring, Reporting & Safeguarding:
- Monitor participants’ progress and provide ongoing feedback and support in coordination with the Project Manager and the MEAL coordinator.
- Prepare periodic reports on training implementation, attendance, learning outcomes, and technical issues.
- Ensure the protection, confidentiality, and ethical use of participants’ personal data.
- Adhere to safeguarding, child protection, and gender-sensitive programming standards.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- University degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Digital Design, or a related field.
- Previous experience in delivering digital literacy or computer training, preferably in humanitarian context.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems, Microsoft Office applications, internet tools, knowledge in robotics is a plus.
- Ability to assess learners’ needs and design effective, inclusive training programs.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to work with diverse and vulnerable populations.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate with technical and program staff.
