UNV Youth and Adolescent Officer (Knowledge Management and Data Support)​

Context

The Youth and Adolescent Development (YAD) programme’s Learning-to-Earning portfolio supports adolescents and young people—particularly vulnerable Lebanese and non-Lebanese youth—to strengthen employability, entrepreneurship, and transition pathways to decent work. The portfolio comprises multiple large-scale, multi-partner initiatives, including KFW-funded projects, PROSPECTS, and other donor-supported programmes, which require strong data systems, timely reporting, and robust monitoring, evaluation, and information management (M&E/IM) to ensure accountability, learning, and results-based decision-making. To respond to the increased workload in data management, reporting, M&E, and information management, UNICEF seeks the support of a UNV to support the in the Learning-to-Earning Data and Knowledge Management. Under the supervision of the Youth and Adolescent Development Officer (Innovation) NO-2, the UNV will support the consolidation and quality assurance of programme data, donor and corporate reporting, partner follow-up, and the development of knowledge products and analytical tools. This role will contribute to improved evidence generation, programme performance monitoring, and the effective delivery and scaling of Learning-to-Earning interventions. In addition to duty station specific vaccine requirements, appointments are subject to confirmation of fully vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the appointment. It does not apply to UN Volunteers who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their contracts. Task description

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Youth and Adolescent Development Officer (Innovation), the UN Volunteer will be supporting with the following:

Partner Reporting Follow-up and Data Validation:

- Follow up implementing partners to ensure timely submission of periodic reports and datasets in line with agreed templates and timelines.

- Review, clean, and validate partner

-reported data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with UNICEF and donor reporting requirements.

- Support partners in addressing data gaps, inconsistencies, and quality issues through clear feedback and guidance.

Data Systems, Extraction, and Visualization

- Support the design and maintenance of structured systems for data extraction, consolidation, and storage across Learning-to-Earning interventions.

- Develop and update dashboards, trackers, and visual summaries to display key indicators, progress against targets, and implementation status.

- Ensure data is easily accessible and usable for programme planning, donor reporting, and management decision-making.

Knowledge Management and Evidence Products

- Design and support the development of knowledge management products, including briefs, factsheets, learning notes, and presentations, capturing results, lessons learned, and good practices.

- Support the organization and structuring of Learning-to-Earning programme documentation and evidence repositories.

- Contribute to internal learning and reflection processes by synthesizing data and insights into actionable knowledge.
