Facilitator

The Knowledge Workshop (KW) is hiring facilitators to lead discussion groups and workshops on feminist approaches to history in Lebanon.

KW is a feminist organization based in Beirut that works on storytelling and oral history, researching women’s stories and histories, as well as developing and making accessible feminist resources. KW has organized creative workshops, trainings and discussions around topics as varied as history and oral history, archiving and the body-as-archive, feminist tech, and the intersection of gender and environmental justice in Lebanon.

In 2026, one of KW’s main projects is “Imagine History Books” that invites teachers, students and people from different backgrounds and age groups to explore their personal and collective histories through approaches that put women, family stories, and the land/environment at the core.

As part of the “Imagine History Books” project, facilitators are expected to hold workshops and focus groups with women and people from multiple communities, to dig deeper into the stories and histories, as well as official history books and narratives. We are looking for facilitators who can hold space for diverging viewpoints, and who can offer creative and pedagogical tools that encourage participants to examine their stories, or any emerging topic, around social, political and ecological issues. Some facilitators may be tasked with finding the participants of a focus group and leading the discussion on a specific topic/question; in other cases, KW will issue the call for participants, and the facilitator will design the agenda and the facilitation plan, and implement it, in close consultation with KW.

This position is a temporary contractor/freelance position.
