The Outreach Officer will plan, coordinate, and implement engaging outreach activities for the Step-by-Step Program among relevant organizations and entities (Universities, Workplaces, Frontliners, Clubs, Associations…) for SbS dissemination and awareness increase.
Step-by-Step (SbS) is an evidence-based, self-help digital mental health intervention developed by the World Health Organization (WHO) in collaboration with the National Mental Health Programme (NMHP) at the Ministry of Public Health in Lebanon. It is implemented in Lebanon in partnership with Embrace. SbS aims to support individuals experiencing symptoms of depression and anxiety through a five-session self-help program that is available through a mobile app or website.
The program uses a guided storytelling format along with illustrations to introduce users to practical techniques such as behavioural activation, stress management, and problem-solving. SbS features a cartoon-character story divided into an introduction and five sessions, each including around the narrative follows a relatable character’s journey and challenges, making psychological techniques more engaging and easier to apply.
Major responsibilities:
- Prepare a list of target groups/organizations/entities that would uptake SbS.
- Prepare a monthly outreach plan (2 outreach activities/week) keeping in mind recognized and specific organization dates and events (examples: Health Day, University Events, …)
- Reach out and liase with target groups/organizations for outreach events and activities.
- Detail activities and the supplies needed for them.
- Prepare Purchase Requests for needed supplies.
- Hold weekly meetings with the SbS Team for coordinating and planning activities and events.
- Prepare presentations needed for information sessions.
- Go to & Implement outreach activities and sessions as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in psychology, social work, public health, or any related field.
- Minimum 2 years experience in field work, delivering community presentations, and holding information sessions.
- Familiarity with the mental health information and recommendations.
- Strong communication and public relation skills and the ability to communicate effectively in both English and Arabic.
- Ability to drive to outreach locations
- High ethical standards and respect of confidentiality.
- Effective skills in preparing presentations and effective activities that are engaging, creative, and population appropriate.
- Prior experience with emotional support is a plus.

- Ability to engage people from diverse populations (adults, youth, frontliners, community leaders, Lebanese, Syrian, Palestinian)
- Demonstrates sensivitiy in approach mental health topics and needs.
- Demonstrates strong analytical and practical skills and the ability to work under pressure with timelines and deadlines.
- Demonstrates the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrates excellent tracking and reporting to the line manager.
- Demonstrates good financial management skills needed for activities.
Time Commitment:
- Part-Time equivalent to 3 full days (8 Hours/Day)

- The Outreach Officer reports to the Step-by-Step Program Coordinator.
