PWSN Case worker

Job Purpose

The PwSN Case worker will be working on Amel’s Protection project alongside with other team members under the supervision of the PwSN Officer and Field Coordinator. He/She is based in one of Amel’s centers “Tyre”. He/She coordinates and reports on the implementation of the project.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive case management services to individuals with specific needs, medium to high risk levels.
  • Deliver counseling services as required.
  • Maintain overall responsibility for supporting individuals throughout all stages of the case management process.
  • Implement comprehensive case management, including counseling, case planning, and case tracking, in accordance with interagency Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensure the timely identification of vulnerable individuals and the provision of individualized case management support through proper documentation, assessments, action planning, direct service provision, referrals, and follow-up.
  • Provide support to vulnerable individuals with protection concerns through psychosocial support and case management services.
  •  Act at all times in accordance with the guiding principles of case management.
  •  Conduct psychosocial assessments of vulnerable cases, including environmental, emotional, behavioral, and social factors, as well as available resources and individual strengths that affect well-being.
  • Prepare accurate and comprehensive case plans for medium- and high-risk cases, with clearly defined outcomes and timeframes.
  • Coordinate with relevant institutions and service providers to facilitate beneficiaries’ access to required resources and services.
  • Collaborate with the medical focal point on all medical-related cases.
  • Ensure coordination with other service providers to enable timely referrals, follow-up, and appropriate information sharing.
  • Manage, complete, and securely archive case profiles, referral forms, and reports, ensuring confidentiality, accuracy, and timeliness.
  •  Monitor and follow up on the outcomes of assistance provided.
  • Ensure the provision of emergency cash assistance to the most vulnerable clients in line with identified needs, agreed criteria, and internal procedures.
  •  Ensure strict adherence to data protection and confidentiality protocols.
  • Participate in internal and external meetings and training sessions, including case management meetings, case conferences, and other relevant meetings as required.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Officer to provide updates on progress, achievements, and challenges.
  •  Perform any other duties assigned by line management.

Coordination and Collaboration

  • Contribute to maintaining an up-to-date service mapping of service providers operating in the area, and proactively remain informed of available services.
  • Coordinate with relevant institutions, community and religious groups or leaders, and other service providers, as appropriate and in consultation with the Officer, to support beneficiaries’ access to required resources and services.
  • Support individuals and families in effectively articulating and representing their views, needs, and capacities in all meetings and processes that affect them.

Monitoring, Reporting, and Compliance

  • Apply appropriate monitoring and evaluation tools across all PWSN project activities to ensure high-quality and effective implementation.
  • Prepare, maintain, and submit accurate and timely reports and documentation in accordance with organizational and donor requirements.
  • Contribute to the regular updating of the Amel Association International management information system and the UNHCR RAIS/Kobo platform.

Capacity Building and Other Duties

  • Engage in ongoing supervision, mentoring, and capacity-building initiatives to strengthen professional skills and performance.
  • Complete all mandatory training activities/programs, both online and in person.
  • Undertake additional tasks relevant to the role as assigned by the Case Management Officer or Project Coordinator.
  • Provide support to team members as required and foster a positive, cooperative, and respectful team environment.

  Qualifications, Skills, and Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences, Gender Studies, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in PWSN case management within NGOs or humanitarian settings.
  • Strong knowledge of PWSN core concepts, case management standards, and psychosocial support approaches in humanitarian contexts.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in multicultural environments and under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Arabic and English (written and spoken)
