Yemen — Flow Monitoring Registry Dashboard | Incoming and Outgoing Migrants (January 2026)

In January 2026, the IOM Yemen DTM tracked 21,050 migrants entering Yemen, representing a decrease of four per cent compared to the 21,996 migrants recorded in the previous month. The primary departure point was Djibouti, accounting for around 66 per cent of the inflow, followed by Somalia (32%) and Oman (2%). Migrants arriving from Djibouti mainly entered through Abyan governorate, which received the largest proportion of arrivals, followed by Ta’iz governorate. Meanwhile, all migrants departing from Somalia continued to arrive in Shabwah governorate. A total of 379 migrants arrived from Oman to Shahin district of Al Maharah governorate. Demographically, the flow remained predominantly male, with 65 per cent men, 16 per cent women, and 20 per cent children. In addition, the DTM team recorded an outbound flow of 2,324 migrants leaving Yemen. The majority departed for Obock, Djibouti, primarily from Lahj governorate, while the remaining migrants traveled from Al Maharah governorate to Oman.
