Videographer

Welthungerhilfe (WHH) is a private, non-profit-making, politically independent and non-denominational organization that supports people living in deprivation and poverty, irrespective of the color of their skin, their religious beliefs or their worldview. WHH is working in the fields of development cooperation and humanitarian aid, relief aid, rehabilitation, and reconstruction. In Lebanon, WHH implement projects through local implementing partners where agriculture, livelihoods, food security and social stability are the main working fields.

With a funding from BMZ, the project “Improving the social and economic resilience of vulnerable host and refugee communities in Lebanon”, aims at improving the resilience of host community and the refugee community in rural areas and are able to cope with the economic crisis.

 

Objective of the Consultancy:

WHH is looking for a videographer to produce 3 short videos (3 min each) representing the achievements of the ongoing project funded by BMZ.

  • Video 1: Video showing the various community projects implemented by our implementing partner HADATHA in Baalbeck/Hermel, North & Akkar Governorates
  • Video 2: Video showing the comprehensive support provided by our implementing partner  JPII for the cooperatives in Baalbeck/Hermel and Akkar Governorates.
  • Video 3: Summary video of the project’s final event.  

 

SCOPE OF WORK:

 After receiving an in-depth introduction into the project activities, background and purpose, the videographer is expected to produce 3 short videos of 3 mins each including: project’s support summary,  testimonials of project’s achievements and interviews with relevant stakeholders and/or project’s team members. The movies should be filmed in Arabic and subtitled in English. Whenever feasible, the editing of the movies should be based on WHH social media guidelines (To be provided upon contract signature).

The videographer will also provide the project with an average of 35 to 50 high-resolution edited and clean pictures taken during the project final event.

Under the overall supervision of WHH representatives, in close collaboration with the WHH Communication Officer, the incumbent will:

  1. Prepare a storyboard of the videos to be produced with the support of the project’s team after a short de-briefing session about the detailed requested job and deep introduction of the context
  2. Shoot video and conduct interviews
  3. Take high resolution photos of project’s final event
  4. Visit selected sites and collect relevant interviews data to be provided in a transcript, along with details of name, title, location;
  5. Get a signed WHH consent form any person interviewed or shown in the video/photo
  6. Edit the videos and oversee the postproduction phase of the videos ensuring that, narration, voiceovers (if need be), color correction, music are all used appropriately, and any used material like music or graphics are licensed;
  7. Provide translation and subtitles in English & German to the movies separately. Provide Arabic subtitles when English speakers are filmed. And provide the script needed for both videos.
  8. Make available to WHH all footage produced for final selection; provide all original high-resolution footage on a hard drive (or USB), exactly as it was shot (not compressed or converted), complete with a shortlist and transcription of interviews;
  9. Provide several rounds of editing based on the comments received from WHH and partners (a minimum of 4 rounds of edits whenever needed).
  10. Undertake any other related activities, as requested by WHH.
  11. The consultant will be required to work in line with WHH visibility guidelines.
  12. The consultant must abide by WHH’s Code of Conduct and national data protection policies.

 

The Videographer will be responsible for the Compilation and editing of the video footage

  • Audio and video equipment should be set-up for interior and exterior location shoots. Videographer is expected to operate video cameras, video/audio equipment to produce high-quality footage
  • Videos shall be produced in a high-quality broadcasting and web publishing format
  • Videos 1 & 2 are to be submitted final by the 2nd week of March – Video 3 is to be submitted by the 2nd week of April 2026.
  • Videos shall be provided in edited and raw format on external memory medium or via file transfer service
  • The assignment is taking place in several areas of Lebanon (Bekaa, Baalbek-Hermel, North & Akkar Governorates). Close coordination with WHH, Hadatha and JPII should be done to organize the logistics and video production. The videographer will use his/her own professional equipment for filming and editing. Materials produced for this task are sole ownership of WHH Lebanon and as such cannot be distributed or shared with any third party (media outlet, publishing agency, organization or person).
  • The final output should be professional documentation/video and pictures to be communicated with partners, stakeholders, and governmental institution to promote for its content.

 

The assignment should cover:

  • For video 1, a 2-days field visit/shooting (One in Baalbeck/Hermel and one in Akkar Governorate) will be needed
  • For video 2, a 2-days field visit/shooting (One in Baalbeck/Hermel and one in Akkar Governorate) will be needed
  • For video 3, one-day shooting will be needed in Tripoli

In total, WHH expecting 5 days for field shoots across all 3 videos in addition of all the animation/editing work needed to produce the 3 mins videos.

 

 

Required competencies:

1. Minimum educational requirement: University degree in audiovisual arts, journalism, television, filmmaking or related field, or similar technical qualification.

2. The consultant is expected to provide all equipment and personnel required to plan, execute and complete the outputs.

3. Flexible schedule for availability. When the contractor is not being able to be on set, he/should are expected to send a replacement using the same quality of the material produced and having the same level of professionalism

4. Presenting Portfolio & CV (previous videos done)

 

 

Timeframe:

The consultancy should be designed to be done in 20 working days between February and April 2026.

Selection Criteria:

  1. Technical Evaluation (40%)

The technical evaluation will be based on the relevance and quality of Portfolio, creativity, visual style, storytelling, technical quality, experience with similar video formats or topics. It will be breakdown as follows:

  • Portfolio Quality (15 points) 
  • (Very strong, relevant, high-quality portfolio clearly aligned with the assignment scope and showing strong impact/results (15 points)
  • Relevant portfolio with acceptable quality and partial alignment to the assignment (10 points)
  • Weak quality, limited relevance, or poorly presented portfolio (5 points)
  • No portfolio submitted (0 point)
  • Similar assignments previously done (15points)
  • (3 or more highly relevant similar assignments, preferably with NGOs/donors and covering related thematic areas (15 points)
  • 2 relevant similar assignments and/or partially related sectors (10 points)
  • 1 similar assignments and/or partially related sectors (5 points)
  • No similar assignments demonstrated (0 point)
  • 5 Years or more of relevant professional experience (10points)
