THE OPPORTUNITY:
The WaSH/Shelter Technician is required to ensure the technical quality of Shelter and WASH program implementation at the field level. The Shelter/WASH Technician will be responsible for conducting technical assessments, monitoring and supervising technical activities, and providing technical advice to contractors, beneficiaries, and communities.
In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and adjust working hours accordingly.
In order to be successful you will bring/have:
- A degree in engineering or a related field; equivalent work experience will be considered.
- Good command of English and Arabic.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the Shelter, WASH, or construction sector.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt work practices and hours, with the ability to work in insecure environments.
- Availability to travel within the country.
- Proficient in computer skills, especially Excel and design software such as AutoCAD.
- Experience in fieldwork and community mobilization.
- Experience in conducting training and sensitization sessions for communities and beneficiaries.
