Public Health Officer

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership in the planning, design, and delivery of public health programs across diverse operational contexts
  • Lead health systems strengthening initiatives, including service delivery optimization, workforce capacity development, and quality improvement
  • Oversee implementation of disease prevention, health promotion, and outbreak preparedness and response activities
  • Guide program teams in translating data and research findings into practical, scalable interventions
  • Oversee development and implementation of Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) frameworks, ensuring data is used for adaptive management
  • Provide technical mentorship and leadership to multidisciplinary teams across country or regional portfolios
  • Contribute to proposal development, donor reporting, and strategic positioning of the organization’s public health portfolio

Required Qualifications: 

  • 5–10 years of progressive experience in public health programming and implementation leadership
  • Proven experience managing large-scale, multi-stakeholder, or complex programs
  • Strong understanding of health systems, service delivery models, and implementation science
  • Strong leadership, coordination, and high-level stakeholder engagement skills
