Field Officer - GBV Component [ Pending Funding ]

Implementation Location :Akkar (Wadi Khaled, Masoudieh) & Bekaa (Bar Elias), Lebanon

Reports To : Project Coordinator – Women-Led Cooperatives Support Project

Contract Duration : 7 Months (Approximately :March through September 2026)

Job Purpose : Under the supervision of the project coordinator , the Field Officer is responsible for the daily technical execution, supervision, monitoring and reporting of the field activities (community outreach, supporting consultants in training design , organizing payments) and for ensuring proper coordination with stakeholders, municipalities, other authorities, participants and related B&Z departments, as well as for supporting the food security and livelihoods activities and the general humanitarian effort of the organization, including the delivery of community-based awareness and capacity-building sessions on gender-based violence (GBV), safeguarding, and protection-related topics in line with B&Z standards. The position requires extensive field work and movement in Akkar governorate Lebanon.

Major Activities :

  • Actively engage with the communities in Wadi Khaled and Massoudieh for participant outreach and ensure the appropriate selection of target population and implementation of the project under the guidance the project manager.
  • Support in designing appropriate training methods and materials to be provided to project participants as part of the capacity building sessions.
  • Facilitate community-based awareness and training sessions on gender-based violence (GBV), and related protection topics, using approved materials and in coordination with the Protection technical team.
  • Ensure implementation of project deliverables with the project team as per project design (assessments, target selection, distribution of inputs (equipment and other material etc.)
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders (Technical consultants, partners, Cooperatives, Municipalities) to ensure appropriate programming strategies are developed and refined for the target population
  • Visit target communities on a regular basis to discuss their problems and experiences and learn about communities. Conduct site visits, focus group discussions and key informant interviews upon request
  • Support in the briefing and induction sessions
  • File, document, and report work progress to his/her line manager on weekly basis
  • Monitor the conformity of the field works with the standards of B&Z, and as per the agreed activity planned, BoQs and contracts
  • Apply GBV guiding principles (confidentiality, safety, respect, non-discrimination, and survivor-centered approach) during community engagement activities and ensure safe identification and referral of protection concerns in line with established SOPs.

Key Performance Indicators :

  • Percentage of selected participants meeting the project’s specific vulnerability and eligibility criteria
  • Monthly progress report shared with the project manager highlighting Activity Execution Percentage of planned field activities (awareness sessions, capacity building sessions, FGDs, distributions)
  • Supporting the MEAL team with Post distribution monitoring for field visits, collecting photos from recipients etc.

Education & Experience:

  • Previous experience: two-year experience working in humanitarian sector particularly with women led groups in rural communities
  • Basic knowledge of gender-based violence concepts, PSEA principles, and community-based protection approaches.
  • Experience in humanitarian and development organizations is desirable
  • Knowledge of MS Office
