Grants Officer (RF#202603)

I. INTRODUCTION

The Lebanon Reforestation Initiative (LRI) is a Lebanese NGO registered at the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities under no. 1186 on 18 June 2014. LRI drives transformative environmental solutions by restoring ecosystems, enhancing climate resilience, and promoting sustainable agriculture and land management. Through innovation, advocacy, and policy engagement, we empower communities, especially women and youth to lead in circular economy models and green enterprises, ensuring long-term environmental and socio-economic sustainability.

 

 II. PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

LRI seeks a part-time Grants Officer within the Fundraising Department. The position will support institutional fundraising, private sector engagement, donor reporting, and fundraising activities. The officer will contribute to the identification and securing of funding opportunities, coordination of proposals and partnerships, and maintenance of effective communication with donors and partners.

III. TASKS AND RESPONSABILITIES

  • Identify, monitor, and analyze funding opportunities from institutional donors, foundations, and private sector entities.
  • Support the development and submission of grant proposals, concept notes, and expressions of interest.
  • Contribute to private sector fundraising initiatives, including corporate partnerships, sponsorships, and tailored funding proposals.
  • Support outreach activities to potential donors, partners, and investors, including follow-ups and coordination meetings.
  • Assist in building and maintaining relationships with private sector partners and institutional donors.
  • Ensure compliance with donor and partner requirements and maintain organized funding-related documentation.
  • Contribute to grant and partnership tracking tools and internal fundraising systems.
  • Support consortium building and coordination with partners when required.
  • Participate in the implementation of the Fundraising Department action plan.
  • Perform other fundraising-related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

IV: REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Business Administration, Environmental Studies, Marketing, or a related field (Master’s degree is an asset).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in grants management, fundraising, private sector partnerships, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in proposal writing, donor reporting, and/or private sector engagement.
  • Strong understanding of institutional donor and private sector funding mechanisms.
  • Excellent research, analytical, writing, and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken); Arabic and/or French is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
