Technical Education Supervisor - Al-Qusayr - Syria

Key Responsibilities

Technical Quality & Oversight

• Ensure education activities are implemented according to approved plans, donor requirements, and HAND standards.
• Conduct regular field monitoring visits and address quality gaps.
• Ensure proper use of learning tools, materials, and classroom resources.

Curriculum & Learning Support

• Support adaptation and contextualization of learning materials and lesson plans.
• Ensure content is learner-centered, inclusive, and responsive to students’ needs.
  Provide technical guidance to teachers on effective delivery methods and classroom practices.

Supervision & Capacity Building

• Supervise and mentor teachers and education facilitators.
• Provide coaching, on-the-job support, and follow-up on performance improvement.
• Support recruitment and onboarding of education staff when needed.

Learning Assessment (Pre/Post Tests)

• Oversee implementation of student assessments and learning checks.
• Review results and provide feedback to improve teaching quality.

   

• Coordinate with the MEAL team to ensure proper documentation and data quality.

Planning, Monitoring & Reporting

• Track progress against activity plans and targets.
• Contribute to internal and donor reporting with technical inputs.
• Document challenges, lessons learned, and good practices.

Coordination & Compliance

• Coordinate with schools, local stakeholders, and project teams.
• Ensure adherence to HAND policies, including Child Protection and PSEA.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (Master’s an asset).
• Experience: Minimum 4 years of experience in education programs, including supervision of teachers or field teams.
• Skills: Strong technical understanding of teaching methodologies, training and coaching ability, and reporting skills.
• Languages: Arabic (fluent), English (working knowledge).
