Digital Hub Focal Point - Aley and Wadi Zayneh

Job Summary:

The Digital Hub Focal Point is responsible for facilitating digital learning and skill-building activities for children and youth within the Makani center. The role involves managing the digital hub space, guiding learners through digital programs, promoting digital literacy, and ensuring safe and effective use of technology. This position plays a key role in equipping children and youth with the necessary digital skills to thrive in today’s world.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Digital Learning Facilitation:
  • Support children and youth in navigating digital platforms and learning tools.
  •  Facilitate sessions on digital literacy, including basic computer skills, internet safety, and      online research.
  •  Guide learners through structured digital curricula and self-paced activities.
  1. Hub Management:
  • Maintain the digital hub environment and ensure all devices (computers, tablets, etc.) are functioning properly.
  • Monitor the appropriate use of equipment and internet access, ensuring a safe and secure digital space.
  • Report any technical issues and coordinate maintenance when needed.
  1. Student Engagement and Support:
  • Encourage participation in digital activities and provide support to learners as needed.
  • Adapt facilitation methods based on learners’ digital skill levels.
  • Identify and support students with limited digital experience or challenges.
  1. Coordination and Communication:
  • Collaborate with the education and protection teams to align digital hub activities with broader educational goals.
  • Ensure timely communication with supervisors regarding attendance, progress, or challenges.
  • Promote awareness about digital hub activities among caregivers and community members.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Requiements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in IT, Education, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience working with children and youth in an educational or technical setting.
  • Proficiency in using computers, tablets, and common software tools.
  •  Strong communication and facilitation skills.
  • Familiarity with online learning platforms and digital safety practices.
  • Experience in non-formal education or youth empowerment programs.
  • Basic troubleshooting and technical support abilities.
  • Creativity and initiative in engaging youth through digital content.
  • Fluency in Arabic; basic English proficiency is a plus.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is conducted in a center-based digital lab environment.
  • Adherence to child protection and safeguarding principles at all times.
