Filmmaker and screenwriter for Step-by-Step (SbS)

Background

Step-by-Step (SbS) is a story-based digital mental health intervention led by the National Mental Health
Programme (NMHP) in partnership with Embrace. It aims to support individuals experiencing
symptoms of depression and anxiety in Lebanon through accessible, evidence-based mental health
care. SbS has been available for adults since 2021 and is currently expanding its reach nationally.
In light of the ongoing emergency situation and war developments affecting Lebanon, there is an
increased need for accessible, confidential, and remote mental health support services. Many
individuals are experiencing heightened stress, fear, uncertainty, displacement, grief, and emotional
distress.
As part of its national scale-up and emergency-responsive efforts, NMHP will launch a national
multimedia campaign that is sensitive to the current context and aims to:

  • Increase awareness about emotional distress during crises
  • Promote SbS as a safe, accessible, and free support option during emergencies
  • Reduce stigma around help-seeking, especially in times of crisis
  • Increase user engagement and enrollment in the program

The campaign must acknowledge the current national situation in a responsible and non-political
manner, ensuring sensitivity while offering support, and practical coping tools.

The objective of this consultancy is to develop compelling, culturally appropriate, ethically responsible,
and war-sensitive video content in Lebanese Arabic to support the national SbS campaign during the
current emergency context.

  • Filming and editing campaign materials
  • Delivering final videos optimized for television and digital platforms

The consultant will produce:

  • One 90-second video for social media featuring public figures promoting the SbS intervention
  • One 30-second TV advertisement suitable for national broadcast
  • Three promotional teasers to be released prior to the campaign launch

All materials must meet broadcast standards and be optimized for platforms such as TV, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and other social media channels.
