Neuropediatrician Doctor

The Rene Moawad Foundation is seeking to recruit Neuropediatrician Doctor for its project DIRASA.

Project Purpose

Access to quality education remains limited for children with disabilities and special educational needs, particularly in vulnerable communities between Tripoli and Minnieh-Denniyeh area. The Rene Moawad Foundation is implementing a child-focused health and development program Dirasa, which aimed at improving access to specialized medical services for vulnerable children, including those with neurological disorders, developmental delays, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, and other neurodevelopmental conditions.

Job Description:

The Neuropediatrician will strengthen specialized neurological services and support multidisciplinary child care within the program. To provide specialized neurological assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care for children with neurological and neurodevelopmental disorders, while contributing to capacity building, program development, and quality improvement within RMF supported services.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct comprehensive neurological assessments for infants, children, and adolescents.
  2. Diagnose and manage conditions such as:
    • Epilepsy and seizure disorders
    • Cerebral palsy
    • Developmental delay
    • Neuromuscular disorders
    • Autism spectrum disorders (neurological evaluation component)
    • Hydrocephalus and other neurodevelopmental disorders
  3. Prescribe and monitor appropriate medications (e.g., antiepileptics).
  4. Interpret or request relevant investigations (EEG, neuroimaging, laboratory tests).
  5. Develop individualized treatment and rehabilitation plans in coordination with therapists.
  6. Provide emergency management for acute neurological cases where applicable.
  7. Ensure proper documentation of patient records.
  8. Collaborate with psychologists, speech therapists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, pediatricians, and social workers.
  9. Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences and treatment planning meetings.
  10. Support integrated care plans for children with complex needs.
  11. Ensure adherence to child safeguarding policies.
  12. Maintain patient confidentiality and informed consent standards.
  13. Identify and report child protection concerns in accordance with RMF policies.

 

Education:

  • Medical Degree (MD).
  • Specialization in Pediatrics.
  • Subspecialty training in Pediatric Neurology (Fellowship or equivalent).
  1. Competencies: (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

 

Professional Competencies:

  • Minimum 3-4 years of experience in pediatric neurology.
  • Experience in developmental or rehabilitation settings preferred.
  • Experience working in NGO, humanitarian, or low-resource settings is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of pediatric neurological disorders.
  • Expertise in epilepsy management and neurodevelopmental assessment.
  • Ability to work within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Cultural sensitivity and family-centered care approach.
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills.
  • Commitment to humanitarian principles and child rights.

Duration:

The implementation of individual sessions in this Project is starting March 2026 and will be ending in September 2026. Specialists and doctors is expected to deliver all the required services within this period.
