Background:
The provision of focused psychosocial support (FPSS) for caregivers is critical to enhancing their emotional well-being and strengthening their ability to provide effective care for their children or dependents. This role involves facilitating structured psychosocial support sessions, equipping caregivers with coping mechanisms, and fostering a supportive environment.
Purpose of the Assignment:
To provide professional facilitation of focused psychosocial support sessions tailored for caregivers, ensuring they receive emotional and psychological tools to cope with challenges, reduce stress, and improve their caregiving practices.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver focused psychosocial support sessions for caregivers based on assessed needs and session objectives.
- Use culturally and contextually appropriate approaches and tools in delivering sessions.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment that encourages open dialogue and sharing.
- Provide individual or group support during sessions to address immediate emotional challenges.
- Offer strategies for stress management, conflict resolution, and self-care to caregivers.
- Document attendance, session outcomes, and feedback from participants.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders, including community leaders and other service providers, to ensure alignment and effective referral pathways.
- Prepare a report summarizing key outcomes, challenges, and recommendations after completing the sessions.
Deliverables:
- A detailed work plan for the sessions, including objectives, content, and methodologies.
- Delivery of psychosocial support sessions as scheduled.
- Post-session documentation, including attendance and feedback forms.
- A final report highlighting the impact, challenges, and recommendations for future interventions.
Note: Staff may be required to support activities in shelters during the current emergency.
Requirements, Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience facilitating psychosocial support or similar sessions, preferably with caregivers or vulnerable populations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to manage group dynamicseffectively.
- Knowledge of culturally and contextually appropriate psychosocial support practices.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare clear and concise reports.
Location: Rotating across 5 centers ( Rawda, Hay El Lija , Hay Selloum, Tarik Jdideh )
