Trainer to conduct Legal Information Sessions in South Lebanon

  1. Brief Information of the Project

 

Empowering women and strengthening the resilience of vulnerable rural and urban communities in South Lebanon and Beirut is a three-year project implemented by a consortium of 3 NGOs, Justice without Frontiers, SHEILD, and JAFRA, led by Welthungerhilfe (WHH) and funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). This project aims to strengthen women's livelihoods and increase the resilience of vulnerable communities engaged in smallholder and subsistence agriculture. Justice without Frontiers’ role in this program is to ensure that gender equality is mainstreamed into all project activities, provide tailored training for women in leadership skills and business development, provide legal support, and conduct gender analysis.

 

 

 

 

 

  1. Request:

JWF is seeking a qualified trainer to conduct a legal information session about access to justice, including Domestic violence, statelessness, and sexual violence topics, for beneficiaries in South Lebanon and Nabatiyeh. These sessions aim to raise awareness about rights and reporting mechanisms, targeting vulnerable populations in the area.

 

 

 

  1. Time Schedule

The trainer contracted by Justice without Frontiers is expected to deliver a one-day training, consisting of 2-3 hours per day, in South Lebanon and Nabatiyeh.

 

 

  1. Scope of work and deliverables

 

The Paralegal is expected to provide the following deliverables:

  • Conduct Legal information sessions for beneficiaries in South Lebanon. (approximately 28 sessions)
  • The sessions will cover topics such as Domestic violence Abuse, statelessness, and sexual harassment from a legal perspective
  • Facilitate interactive sessions that encourage participation and discussion among beneficiaries, ensuring a safe and respectful environment.
  • Prepare pre-and post-training assessments to measure the impact of the training.
  • Prepare regular progress reports detailing the activities conducted, outcomes achieved, and challenges faced, and provide recommendations for future support.
  • Explain to GBV survivors their rights and available options, and encourage them to seek legal support and representation in court
  • Identify and refer  GBV cases and GBV survivors to the JWF team for appropriate legal support.

 

  1. Skills and Experience required:

 

  • A degree in law or a related field.
  • Experience in delivering Awareness sessions or related sessions, particularly in the humanitarian sector
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English, with excellent written and spoken skills in both languages.
  • Ability to produce reports
  • Experience working with NGOs or international organizations in the field of community development.
  • Knowledge of gender, protection, and human rights principles.
  • Knowledge and experience in the field of women’s rights and gender equality.

  • A lawyer registered with the Bar Association:10%
  • Over 2 years of experience as a Legal Trainer:10%
    0-1 year of experience :3%
    1-2 years of experience:7%
    2 years and more of experience: 10%
  • Experience in delivering Awareness sessions related to domestic violence, statelessness, and sexual harassment from a legal perspective:15%
  • Knowledge of gender equality and protection of women’s rights:5% 
  • Experience in working with GBV survivors and know the different referral mechanism:10%
  • Experience working in cultural sensitivity and with vulnerable community:5%
  • Previous experience working with NGOs or community development programs related to women's rights, and legal awareness sessions: 10%

0–1 years of experience: 3%

1–3 years of experience: 7%

More than 3 years of experience: 10%

  • Attend TOT training or previous training sessions in related fields: 5%
