MEAL Assistant BML (Rolling recruitment, subject to donor approval)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Monitoring and Evaluation

  • Support MEAL officer to develop M&E plans to monitor project/ program indicators under MEAL manager supervision and support, in compliance with donor, and MEDAIR standards and guidelines
  • Familiarize with project/ program interventions, standards, guidelines and beneficiary selection criteria
  • Support in developing design methodologies, tools, and surveys for post distribution monitoring (PDM) and other monitoring activities.  
  • Carry out data collection, analysis and drafting reports as part of PDMs and other monitoring activities
  • Support MEAL unit to manage data and information and maintain up to date indicators tracking tables
  • Assist, and monitor casual labor on surveys, and data collection to ensure data quality
  • Conduct regular monitoring visits to project/ programs sites and provide detailed monitoring reports.
  • Conduct and/or assist in conducting programme/ project evaluations
  • Ensure beneficiary consultation in all M&E related processes following CHS and AAP framework.
  • Be flexible, willing to assist in other areas of work as relevant and needed.

 

Communication

  • implementation staff and local communities on site
  • Assist in translation as needed.
  • Ensure that any issues identified during monitoring processes are communicated clearly with MEAL officer and relevant project staff
  • Welcome beneficiary feedback, complaints, referrals and report it to Accountability focal point, following MEDAIR Lebanon SOPs related to referrals, complaints and feedback

 

Reporting

  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of monitoring activities e.g. through weekly and monthly reports
  • Ensure findings and data generated through project monitoring activities is well organized and easy to access for sharing internally to MEDAIR and externally to donors, as per request

 

Logistics

  • Work within Medair’s recognised procedures for logistics and work with logistics staff to ensure items are procured, transported, stored, managed and accounted for correctly
  • Raise Purchase Requests for MEAL related activities/ items, and coordinate with the logistics department to ensure the timely purchase and delivery of quality materials.
  • Support when needed to complete the monthly Cash Needs Forecast for MEAL activities.
  • Understand and adhere to Medair finance and logistical procedures that concern MEAL related activities.

 

 

Quality & Financial Management

  • Be aware of the potential for loss or fraud in logistical activities and procedures.
  • Pro-actively work to prevent such occurrences by working ensuring adherence to Medair guidelines on fraud prevention with relevant line managers to improve transparency and to ensure the best use of Medair assets and resources
  • Work within Medair’s recognised procedures in the area of finance and quality management

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

-Preferred university degree in civil engineering, psychology, social sciences

-Minimum1 year of professional or practical experience in monitoring and evaluation.

-Experience conducting surveys or doing analysis.

-Experience writing in English.

-Familiar with Sphere and CHS principles and standards.

-Strong working knowledge of Arabic and English (spoken and written)

-Computer skills with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, and Outlook.
