The specific objectives of this engagement are to:
- Develop, manage, and grow Ettijahat’s social media platforms in a coherent and strategic manner, at a frequency to be agreed upon with the team
- Produce high-quality digital content — including written posts, graphics, and short-form videos — that reflects the organization’s mission and programs
- Support program teams in the development and dissemination of promotional materials for ongoing and upcoming activities
- Contribute to internal and external reporting by documenting social media performance and content outreach
- Maintain a consistent documentation trail of the organization’s promotional trajectory across all digital channels
The Social Media Officer will be responsible for the following tasks:
1.1 Social Media Management and Development
- Oversee and develop Ettijahat’s presence across all active social media platforms in coordination with the communication manager and in accordance to preset plans (including but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn)
- Conduct regular bi-weekly audits of platform performance and propose strategies for audience growth and engagement improvement
- Monitor social media trends, cultural discourse, and best practices relevant to arts, culture, and civil society to inform content strategy set by the communication manager and in coordination with each of the programmes' teams
- Engage with the online community by responding to comments and messages in a timely and consistent manner, and collaborate with partners to promote their activities
1.2 Content Creation and Production
- Create, edit, and publish compelling content in both Arabic and English, including editorial posts, captions, stories, and threads
- Design digital visual materials and graphics aligned with Ettijahat’s visual identity and branding guidelines
- Edit short video clips received from correspondents and produce motion graphics content and explanatory videos, in addition to hybrid videos combining footage from trusted sources with custom graphic elements
- Perform basic audio processing including audio editing, noise reduction, and sound mixing
- Apply color correction and color grading to ensure visual consistency across all published materials
- Produce and edit short-form video content (reels, clips, promotional teasers) optimized for each platform’s specifications and audience behavior
- Propose and develop new formats and audio-visual storytelling approaches in collaboration with the editorial and creative teams
- Collaborate with the programs and communications team to ensure content accuracy, tone consistency, and editorial quality
- Implement required revisions to published materials based on editorial and creative feedback
1.3 Program Promotional Support
- Follow up with program teams to gather content and updates related to ongoing programs and activities
- Develop promotional materials — including announcements, calls for applications, event promotions, and activity highlights — across all platforms
- Ensure timely and coordinated communication of program milestones and deliverables to relevant audiences
1.4 Reporting and Documentation
- Prepare regular analytics reports tracking reach, engagement, follower growth, and content performance
- Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to inform future communications strategies
- Document promotional content chronologically to build a comprehensive archive of Ettijahat’s digital outreach activities
- Support the production of relevant sections of internal and external organizational reports relating to digital communications
- Prepare and coordinate Ettijahat’s digital newsletter in collaboration with the programs team and programs director, and distribute it on a regular basis
- 2. Required Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and competencies:
2.1 Education and Experience
- A degree or equivalent qualification in communications, media, marketing, cultural studies, journalism, or a related field is preferred
- Demonstrated experience (minimum 3 years) managing social media accounts for organizations, particularly in the non-profit, cultural, or civil society sector
- Prior experience working with arts and culture organizations or in similar contexts is an advantage
2.2 Technical and Creative Skills
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience in video editing, preferably within a media organization or editorial environment
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, with working knowledge of design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and Canva
- Familiarity with alternative editing tools such as DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut Pro
- Demonstrated experience producing engaging content optimized for social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and others
- Solid understanding of color correction, color grading, and post-production audio processing
- Strong visual storytelling skills with a high level of precision and attention to detail in the production and handling of visual material
- Strong proficiency in social media management tools (e.g., Meta Business Suite, Hootsuite, Buffer, or similar)
- Strong understanding of platform-specific algorithms, formats, and best practices
- Analytical proficiency: ability to interpret social media metrics and translate data into actionable recommendations
- 2.3 Soft Skills and Attributes
- Excellent written communication skills in Arabic; working proficiency in English is required
- High degree of creativity, visual sensibility, and editorial judgment

- 3. Expected Deliverables
Over the course of the contract, the Social Media Officer is expected to deliver:
- Content Implementation Plan aligned with Ettijahat communications strategy, (to be submitted within the first two weeks)
- Weekly content calendar covering all active platforms
- Regular publication of editorial, visual, and video content across platforms (minimum frequency to be agreed with the team)
- Monthly analytics report summarizing platform performance, key metrics, and recommendations
- A documentation log of all promotional content produced and published during the contract period
- A final summary report at the end of the contract period including highlights, lessons learned, and strategic recommendations
- 4. Working Conditions
Duration: 6 months (renewable)
Commitment: 20 hours per week
Location: Lebanon, from Ettijahat offices
Language of Deliverables: Arabic and English, as appropriate to each output
Supervision: Bi – weekly check-ins with the Communications Manager
The successful candidate will be expected to attend periodic coordination meetings (online or in-person as agreed) and maintain regular communication with the team throughout the contract.
