Social Worker

The René Moawad Foundation (RMF) is seeking to recruit an “Social Worker” for IOM funded project in Saida, MBL and North Lebanon.

Note: Recruitment for this position is contingent upon agreement’s signature; nevertheless, interviews will be conducted in advance as part of the selection and recruitment process.

Major Responsibilities: 

  • Plan and conduct structured awareness raising sessions for IDPs and host communities in shelters and surrounding areas.
  • Deliver sessions on key protection topics including child protection, gender-based violence (GBV), PSEA, and available services.
  • Ensure sessions are inclusive, age-appropriate, and culturally sensitive.
  • Conduct outreach activities both inside shelters and in surrounding communities to ensure maximum coverage.
  • Identify vulnerable individuals during awareness sessions and refer them to appropriate services (including case management when needed).
  • Disseminate key messages and information materials to communities in a clear and accessible manner.
  • Engage community members in participatory discussions to raise awareness and encourage positive behavioral change.
  • Coordinate with field teams and other service providers to ensure harmonized messaging and referrals.
  • Support community mobilization efforts and strengthen community-based protection mechanisms.
  • Maintain records of sessions conducted, attendance, and key feedback from participants.
  • Prepare regular activity reports and contribute to project monitoring and evaluation.
  • Ensure all activities adhere to protection principles, including confidentiality, do no harm, and survivor-centered approaches.
  • Uphold organizational policies on child safeguarding, PSEA, and professional ethics.

Professional Standards:

All RMF staff are required to adhere to the RMF policies and practices with respect to child protection minimum standards, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.

Job Requirements:

  • University degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Social Sciences.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in community outreach, awareness raising, or protection programming.
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations, including IDPs and host communities.
  • Knowledge of protection principles, including CP, GBV, and PSEA.
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills.
  • Ability to engage diverse groups, including children, youth, and adults.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Sensitivity to cultural, gender, and protection issues.
  • Results-oriented, flexible, and adaptable.
  • High integrity and respect for confidentiality.

Period of Employment: 3 months

Salary Range: $800-$1,200

Experience Requirements: At least 2 years of relevant experience.

Education Degree: Bachelor Degree in psychology and/or social work.
