Areas of Responsibility: Facilitator
General objective of the job
The Facilitator is responsible for providing focused and non focued psychological and emotional support to individuals or groups facing various forms of distress, trauma or crisis. He/ She is required to acquire and master the related curricula to be provided for the woman, girls, and children in a participatory and safe manner.
Job Responsibilities:
- Be aware of the Minimum Standards for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action, GBV core concepts, gender- and conflict-sensitive.
- Support the outreach team in mapping and assessing participants to attend PSS activities.
- Register, refer and enroll participant in psychosocial support activities.
- Work directly with woman, adolescent girls and children in a collective site and community center, carrying out psychosocial activities.
- Plan, organize and run activities while facilitating and encouraging the active participation of all participants.
- Ensure activities run in a timely manner to ensure the successful implementation of the project.
- Ensure that children are all involved in the activity and that there is possibility for boys and girls to work both together and in gender-based group.
- Deal with difficult behaviours (conflict, aggressiveness, introversion) and understand the reason behind the behaviour to positively communicate with the situation.
- Ensure participants under her/his responsibility are not exposed to any form of Harm or stress during the activities
- Liaise with the Protection Officer on regular basis regarding the implementation of PSS activities
- Be responsible for the proper use and basic maintenance of the PSS material and the facility.
- Handle logistics responsibilities as necessary.
- Submit requests needed of items to be purchased, repaired or replaced.
- Work in compliance with and respect of the principles of Child Protection and confidentiality, working with IDPs and host communities with sensitivity.
- Identify key protection threats raising GBV core concepts to the Protection officer.
- Identify safety issues and follow-up with the management team on the safety and security of the chosen locations.
- Identify participant requiring case management and ensure safe referral to case management agencies or service providers; and support with preliminary evaluation when needed.
- Collect data on the activities organized and ensure that all the relevant forms are duly filled, as requested.
- Ensure all project means of verifications (MOV) including registration sheets, attendance sheets, SDQs, evaluation documents… are in place.
- Fill specific forms for referrals and weekly reporting, ensuring confidentiality, accuracy and timeliness.
- Support the project team in the development of different project reports.
- Support in AND’s activities when needed;
Personal Competencies:
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to create and work as a team.
- Creative and able to come up, embrace and coordinate innovative thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of working with children and particularly vulnerable children.
- Knowledge of English is preferred.
- Good knowledge word and excel.
Position Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in a social development related field, (kindergarten, psychology, sociology, social sciences/humanities, specialized education or social animation).
- One-year work experience in implementing focused psychosocial activities with children
- Capable of dealing with children who have experienced war distress (education in emergency preferable

Reporting
The facilitator shall report to the CP officer.
