1. Background
The Self-Help Plus (SH+) program, is an evidence-based psychosocial support approach designed to strengthen coping skills and reduce psychological distress among adults facing adversity. In Lebanon, SH+ is being delivered as part of broader efforts to expand access to mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS), including through digital and audio-based formats that can reach communities at scale.
To support communication, dissemination, and stakeholder engagement, IDRAAC seeks to produce a high-quality promotional video presenting the SH+ intervention, its impact, and key messages for diverse audiences.
This project is in collaboration with the National Mental Health Programme (NMHP) and with IDRAAC as the implementing partner and in coordination with the International Rescue Committee (IRC).
The video will incorporate accessible and inclusive elements, including sign language interpretation, voice-over narration, and subtitles, in line with accessibility standards adopted across SH+ content.
2. Objective
The objective of this assignment is to:
- Conceptualize, shoot, and produce a professional promotional video for SH+
- Communicate key messages, impact, and value of the intervention
- Deliver a fully accessible video product integrating:
- Sign language interpretation
- Voice-over (VO)
- Subtitles
3. Scope of Work
Under the supervision of IDRAAC, the videographer will be responsible for the full production cycle:
A. Pre-Production
- Participate in a kickoff meeting with IDRAAC
- Review background materials and key messaging on SH+
- Contribute to:
- Concept development and storytelling approach
- Storyboard and shot list preparation
- Ensure integration planning for:
- Sign language interpreter framing/placement
- Voice-over structure
- Subtitling requirements
B. Production (Filming)
- Conduct professional video shooting
- Ensure high-quality technical setup:
- Audio recording (clear voice capture)
- Lighting and framing suitable for accessibility and clarity
- Film sign language interpreter
- Follow ethical storytelling practices (consent, dignity, confidentiality)
C. Post-Production
- Edit raw footage into a compelling narrative aligned with IDRAAC branding and messaging
- Integrate:
- Voice-over narration
- Sign language interpretation (embedded or picture-in-picture)
- Subtitles (accurate, time-synced, readable)
- Apply:
- Sound design and mixing (voice, music balance)
- Color correction and grading
- Graphics or simple animations (if needed)
- Ensure synchronization across all elements (audio, visuals, subtitles, sign language), as required in SH+ outputs
D. Revision and Finalization
- Submit draft version(s) for review
- Incorporate consolidated feedback from IDRAAC
- Deliver final approved version(s)
4. Key Deliverables
The videographer will deliver:
- One (1) high-quality promotional video
- Recommended duration: 1.5–3 minutes
- Fully integrated version including:
- Voice-over narration
- Sign language interpretation
- Subtitles (burned-in and/or separate files if required)
- Adapted versions (if requested):
- Social media cuts (30–60 seconds)
- Export package including:
- Full HD video (1080p minimum)
- Web-optimized formats
- Editable source files (project files + assets)
5. Timeline
Indicative timeline:
- Kickoff meeting: Upon contract signature
- First draft: Within 2 working days
- Final version: Within agreed timeline after feedback
6. Coordination & Reporting
- The videographer will report to a designated focal point at IDRAAC
- Regular check-ins and validation points will be scheduled
- Coordination required with:
- Sign language interpreter and VO artist
7. Required Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should demonstrate:
- Proven experience in videography and video editing (portfolio required)
- Strong storytelling and visual communication skills
- Experience producing promotional or awareness videos for NGOs or social impact projects
- Experience integrating:
- Voice-over
- Subtitles
- Accessible video elements (preferred)
- Proficiency in editing software (e.g., Premiere Pro, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve)
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage revisions
8. Ownership and Usage Rights
- All materials produced under this assignment will remain the exclusive property of IDRAAC
- IDRAAC retains full rights to use, reproduce, and distribute the video for:
- Communication and visibility
- Donor reporting
- Social media and publications
- Any use by the videographer requires prior written approval
9. Ethical Considerations
- Ensure informed consent for all filmed participants
- Respect confidentiality and sensitive content related to mental health
- Follow IDRAAC safeguarding and ethical communication standards
