Mada Association requires periodic IT technical support to ensure that hardware, software, network systems, and data protection measures function effectively and securely. The consultant will provide on-site and/or remote technical assistance on a scheduled basis, as well as remote support upon request when critical issues arise. In addition, the consultant will prepare a monthly report on the condition of IT equipment (laptops, scanners, network devices, etc.).
- Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Hardware Support Tasks
- Troubleshoot internet connectivity for desktops, laptops, and network devices.
- Troubleshoot printing, scanning, and peripheral device issues.
- Escalate and coordinate with third-party hardware suppliers when required.
- Perform maintenance of hardware and related equipment.
- Confirm IT purchase requests, track IT invoices, and assist with IT forecasting.
- Assist in negotiating terms, contracts, and maintenance agreements with third-party suppliers.
- Maintain inventory of IT equipment and ensure all devices are properly logged and tagged.
- Format and set up laptops for employees, ensuring readiness for use.
- Replace faulty hardware components (RAM, HDD/SSD, batteries, etc.).
- Install and configure new desktops, laptops, and related hardware.
- Set up and maintain network hardware (routers, switches, access points).
- Conduct physical inspections of IT equipment.
- Coordinate repair and replacement of damaged equipment.
- Install and maintain UPS systems and power protection devices.
- Test hardware performance and run diagnostic tools.
- Perform preventive maintenance checks on IT equipment.
- Conduct periodic physical inventory verification.
- Monitor hardware lifecycle and recommend replacement plans.
- Ensure proper storage conditions for hardware devices.
- Software & Systems Support Tasks
- Troubleshoot Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Perform antivirus scanning, malware removal, and data recovery.
- Add, modify, or delete email accounts.
- Troubleshoot email access issues (sending/receiving).
- Provide technical advice and user support on IT-related issues.
- Perform system cleaning, optimization, and verification of backup data.
- Ensure appropriate backups of servers and systems and verify data integrity.
- Reporting Line
- The IT Support Consultant will report directly to the Procurement, Logistics, and Security Manager.
- Duration of contract
- The consultancy contract will be for a period of one 1 year, renewable based on availability of funds and performance.
- Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Ability to provide prompt attention and quick action when required, especially in urgent technical situations.
