Responsibilities
1. Equipment Management (100%)
1.1 Procurement
Coordinate the end-to-end procurement process, including initiating purchases from approved vendors and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.
Conduct vendor assessment and vetting to ensure reliability, quality standards, and alignment with organizational procurement policies.
Maintain compliance with procurement procedures and internal approval workflows.
1.2 Inventory Control
Maintain and regularly update inventory records in coordination with the Accounting and Admin team, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Conduct basic maintenance and repairs of laptops and devices when possible, and coordinate external service providers for more complex repairs.
Oversee the setup, configuration, and delivery of equipment to ensure readiness for project use.
Execute small inventory-related tasks as assigned, ensuring proper organization and tracking of assets.
Support overall asset management, including preparing and maintaining equipment for educational and programmatic use.
1.3 Donor Reporting Support
Ensure all procurement-related supporting documents are properly created and filed in line with donor requirements.
Support the team in preparing, updating, and amending documentation required for audits and reporting compliance.
1.4 Technical Support & Equipment Deployment
Provide on-site technical support for equipment-related issues across project locations.
Coordinate with service providers for maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair services.
Prepare, configure, and test equipment (including laptops, routers, and related devices) prior to deployment.
Coordinate logistics and delivery of equipment to ensure timely and accurate distribution to project sites.
Ensure all equipment is fully functional and ready for use before and during project implementation.
2. Other Responsibilities
- Support additional tasks as assigned by the Head of Operations and the team to ensure smooth project implementation.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining quality control processes related to equipment and technical operations.
- Participate in internal meetings, field visits, and organizational events as required.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong tech and research skills that are related to the maintenance and upkeep of laptops and other electronic equipment (such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi, MakeyMakeys, micro:bits, etc..)
- University degree in any relevant field (e.g. Technology-related degrees preferred).
- 1 year of work experience preferred; strong candidates with less experience may be considered.
- Proficiency in English and Arabic (written and spoken).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Suite.
- Experience in technical support, procurement, and inventory management.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Experience in the NGO sector or similar environments is a plus.
Work Conditions:
- This position requires occasional travel to project sites.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- May involve lifting and handling of equipment.
Salary
$1,100 (fresh) per month for a part-time contract.
