National Institution for Social Care and Vocational Training NISCVT has a zero tolerance policy with regard to Sexual Exploitation and Abuse. Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) is the responsibility of everyone. Selected candidates will therefore undergo rigorous reference and background checks against their past behavior against sexual exploitation and abuse and misconduct and may be required to provide additional information further on in the selection process. All individuals affiliated with NISCVT will be required to always comply with the PSEA Policy and Code of Conduct.
Optional: National Institution for Social Care and Vocational Training (NISCVT Beit Atfal Assumoud) is a humanitarian NGO working with the Palestinian communities in Lebanon since 1976 in development and emergency response. NISCVT’s mission is to contribute to the development of the Palestinian community in Lebanon through various projects and services addressing the needs of the whole family focusing on education, community, economic development and VTCs, health and relief including psychosocial support.
Optional Background
NISCVT runs a community based psychosocial support program within the frame of Makani multiservice centers in number of Palestinian camps in partnership with UNICEF. Withing this framework, NISCVT is seeking to recruit PSS Animator.
2. Objective of the position:
The purpose of the post is to assist in and support NISCVT’s staff within PSS program activities conducted by [NISCVT] in the frame of the “[Project]” referred hereafter as the PSS program.
3. Key tasks and responsibilities:
The PSS Animator will work under the supervision of [NISCVT center PSS coordinator], to whom he/she will report.
Collaborate closely with the PSS team
Actively participate in team meetings with coordinator and other members involved in project implementation to discuss challenges faced, achievements, difficulties and lessons learned
Center based and community based PSS activities
Conduct PSS activities for children in Space set up in Makani multiservice center
Conduct structured and unstructured PSS activities based on validated modules by NISCVT and the donor. Assist in activities for caregivers based on trained on validated modules as requested,
Plan support for children and caregivers to attend activities based on varying numbers of children, age groups, and space availability according to standards of safety and best practices. Design activity sessions in advance based on clear workplan and objective of session .
During activity sessions, identify and safely refer children with signs of difficulties and protection concerns in need of extra support to the PSS Senior Officer, adhering to safe and ethical referral standards.
Ensure that minimum Child Protection and quality standards are met in Space activities set up in Makani.
Ensure that activities in Space set up in Makani and outreach are run in a gender sensitive manner and are reflective of the principle of do no harm, inclusive, and nondiscrimination.
Ensure the confidentiality of any information acquired about individual beneficiaries attending activities in the Space set up in Makani and outreach.
Assist in community based activities and events/ campaigns.
Community Outreach and Mobilization
Conduct PSS activities for children in community based and outreach. Provide basic information to children and parents on available services. Invite children attending outreach locations to join activities organized in the Space set up in Makani.
Contribute in Identify children in need and most vulnerable for enrolling in services, i.e. children not enrolled in formal or non-formal education, children excluded from other support networks, children who display signs of distress, children in large families, adolescent boys and girls, children about whose psychosocial health parents’ manifest concerns, children about whose family situation/parenting environment/ protection manifest concerns.
Other
Conduct information and awareness sessions community members to disseminate information about available services and key protection concerns
Identify opportunities for conducting sessions in safe and accessible locations, such as community centers or other safe spaces.
Support capacity building logistics where needed
Be available to participate in training in and outside the [NISCVT] centers
Support other tasks within [NISCVT] emergency response program as needed.
Support Rapid Assessment, interview, with targeted populations as needed.
Safeguarding
Assist in dissemination and information on NISCVT Code of Conduct and PSEA Policy to beneficiaries. promoting children’s rights, and abiding by NISCVT Code of Conduct
Report any incident or act that causes any harm to beneficiary or to others
Report risks identified by children and caregivers within their community
Documentation and reporting
Assist in filling and recording, i.e., activity data sheets, details of sessions, and other information which feed into the monthly reporting
Regularly report on center based, outreach and community activities using agreed tools (including safety audits)
Contribute to development of monthly and weekly center workplans
Qualification & Job Requirements:
Degree/Diploma, or strong work experience in animation/facilitation with skills within Mental Health and Psychosocial Support and Child Protection programs. Demonstrable knowledge based on animation skills training and experience in implementing PSS modules and managing group activities is a strong asset
Experience in NGOs or relevant work, and any other continuing professional development is an advantage.
Candidates must have the appropriate skills and training using proven quality and safety methods which underpins the delivery of a mental health and child protection service
Demonstrable experience of work and/or support to local NGOs, preferably in the Palestinian camps in Lebanon.
Applicants living in, or adjacent to camps and gatherings will be prioritized

Excellent communication skills with children and adults
Strong work ethics and commitment to [NISCVT] goals and values
Previous experience of emergency response projects is an asset
Team oriented, with ability to work efficiently within group.
Flexible and responsive to program challenges, with willingness to take on additional tasks as needed.
Arabic is a must. English is an asset
Capability of using PP, word processing, spread sheets, etc.
